New No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced All In One foundation - review

No7 Protect & Perfect All In One foundation

I'm back with another foundation review, but as opposed to the new Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation this time I am really impressed.
Some of you may know that I work as No7 Advisor, hence I get to try most new and old products in order to know what they're like. I think No7, in general, has really good foundations, apart from shade range which could improve, but the latest launch has quickly become my 'go to' foundation and one I reach over many other high end bases in my collection.
No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced All In One Foundation, £17 for 30ml

Aqua (Water), Cyclopentasiloxane, Caprylyl methicone, Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, Glycerin, Ethylhexyl salicylate, Titanium dioxide (nano), Butylene glycol, PEG-9 dimethicone, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, HDI/trimethylol hexyllactone crosspolymer, Bis-isobutyl PEG/PPG-10/7/dimethicone copolymer, Disteardimonium hectorite, Cyclohexasiloxane, Mica, Magnesium sulfate, Silica, Phenoxyethanol, Alcohol denat., Propylene carbonate, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Methylparaben, Propylene glycol, PEG/PPG dimethylallylether, Tocopheryl acetate, Dimethicone, Ascorbyl glucoside, Ethylparaben, Retinyl palmitate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Sorbitan laurate, Panax ginseng root extract, Carbomer, Potassium hydroxide, Dimethylmethoxy chromanol, Polysorbate 20, Tocopherol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Acetyl dipeptide-1 cetyl ester, Morus alba leaf extract, BHT, Palmitoyl tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, [ +/- (May Contain) CI 77891 (Titanium dioxide), CI 77492 (Iron oxides), CI 77491 (Iron oxides), CI 77499 (Iron oxides)].
Available in 14 shades, it has creamy formula and offers medium buildable coverage.
It's powered by skincare ingredients present in No7 Protect & Perfect Advance age defying skincare range.
- MATRIXYL 3000 PLUS™ – advanced anti-ageing peptides combined with pro-vitamin A to help restore a more youthful appearance to the skin,
- Vitamins E & C – help block free radicals and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and pigmentation on the skin,
- Anti-oxidant complex – with powerful skin protecting ginseng root extract and morus alba (mulberry) leaf extract.
It also contains SPF50 but if you apply your foundation sparingly for sheer/light coverage then you won't be getting the benefits of the SPF and should apply additional facial SPF, especially if spending time outdoors.

From left shades are: Warm Beige, Warm Ivory, Honey
The foundation blends effortlessly on the skin regardless of application method, but as usual, beauty blender is my personal favourite for that flawless looking skin. The formula doesn't accentuate any dry patches or wrinkles, it does settle in them ever so slightly but, in overall, it looks quite smoothing on the skin and it's pretty forgiving on large pores.
The foundation needs setting with dusting of powder as it stays a little bit tacky. The finish is satin-like with natural looking glow, it makes the skin look perfected but not cake-y or mask-like.

My skin after applying skincare and before any makeup, for some reason it looks very blotchy which isn't as bad in real life but I have very un-even skin tone at the moment and my hyperpigmentation has become much more visible after Summer, despite using facial SPF. So there's quite a bit to cover and even out.

I apply a generous amount of the foundation, mostly to get the benefit of the SPF50 if I'm not spending the majority of my day outdoors, and it never looks or feel heavy on my skin, mind you, I do wear full coverage foundations so my perception might be different from someone wearing only BB Cream for example. The foundation may not be the most lightweight but it's definitely not heavy.

If you follow me on Instagram the you know that I've been raving about this new No7 Foundation.
It's definitely not for everyone but if you have normal to dry, dry or mature skin and like foundations with decent coverage, blurring effect and a bit of glow then I can't recommend it enough. I do advise to set it lightly with powder to ensure it sets into place.
I can easily wear it on 10 hours working days and it looks really good throughout the whole day.
It's not transfer-proof so if you blow your nose (glamorous, I know) then it will come off but it's one of those formula that you can pat it with your finger and it kind of blends back into the skin so you can easily "fix" it if it gets disrupted.
As I said I set it with powder, I always set all my foundations, and it doesn't get too shiny on my combination, mature skin, although I like to blot the excess glow after about 5, 6 hours of wearing the foundation.
I've said it before and will say it again that makeup will never replace a proper skincare product but I do appreciate the skincare ingredients in this foundation as it's always better to wear something more beneficial for the skin.
Have you tried this new No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced All In One foundation? Are you tempted to?
