No7 HydraLuminous Foundation and Concealer - review

What your dream foundation would be like?
Mine would have high coverage but very lightweight formula with naturally luminous finish, would last all day long without getting patchy or disappearing and would keep my oils at bay so I wouldn't have to touch it up with powder during the day. And, of course, would match my complexion perfectly. Not much to ask for, is there? Haha!
While I have some foundations I really do love, I'm yet to try one that would tick off every single of my requests.
But I feel like the foundations formulas are getting better and better so maybe one day I will come across something utterly perfect.
In the meantime let me tell you a bit more about new foundation from No7 that has recently launched.

No7 HydraLuminous Foundation and Concealer

No7 HydraLuminous Moisturising Foundation, 30ml, £15

Ingredients:
Aqua (Water), Cyclopentasiloxane, Caprylyl methicone, Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, Glycerin, HDI/trimethylol hexyllactone crosspolymer, Cyclohexasiloxane, PEG-9 dimethicone, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Titanium dioxide (nano), Bis-isobutyl PEG/PPG-10/7/dimethicone copolymer, Disteardimonium hectorite, Alcohol denat., Mica, Magnesium sulfate, Phenoxyethanol, Propylene carbonate, Bis-diglyceryl polyacyladipate-2, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Caprylyl glycol, Aluminum hydroxide, Stearic acid, Methylparaben, Propylene glycol, PEG/PPG dimethylallylether, Sodium benzoate, Tocopheryl acetate, Vitis vinifera (Grape) seed oil, Ascorbyl glucoside, Ethylparaben, Ethylhexylglycerin, Retinyl palmitate, Silica, Tetrasodium EDTA, Isopropyl palmitate, Butylene glycol, Panax ginseng root extract, Lecithin, Potassium hydroxide, Tocopherol, Morus alba leaf extract, BHT, [ +/- (May contain) CI 77891 (Titanium dioxide), CI 77492 (Iron oxides), CI 77491 (Iron oxides), CI 77499 (Iron oxides)].

This new foundation comes in a tube which makes it more practical for storage and traveling, there are 12 shades available, from Porcelain to Deeply Honey which is unfortunately lacking in the darker shades. But if your skin is on the fair through light to medium deep tones you should be able to find a match.
The formula is not thick and it feels lightweight on the skin, it contains Vitamins A, C, E which are active antioxidants and grapeseed oil to keep the skin moisturised. The foundation is supposed to improve the appearance of your skin after regular use but I wouldn't rely on my foundation to do so as skincare is more important. However is nice to use makeup that contains skin loving ingredients.

My experience

The foundation blends effortlessly into the skin and looks very natural, the name is actually well chosen because the foundation does make the skin look hydrated and healthy. The coverage is good medium, it can be sheered out for lighter finish or built up where needed. The foundation smoothes out pores but does gather a bit in wrinkles, but to be honest I'm yet to try one that doesn't. Once set with powder, (I always set every foundation), it lasts on my skin without the need to touch up about 8 hours, around that time it starts to separate and disappear from around my nose. So it's not the longest lasting foundation and it's not transfer proof so if you tend to touch your face a lot it will come off easily.
But what I love about it is how beautifully it blends without accentuating any dry areas, how comfortable it feels on the skin and it keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day without making it look oily.
In my opinion this foundation is best suited for people with dry to normal and/or mature skin.

The concealer, similarly to the foundation, feels very lightweight and hydrating on the skin, it does crease if I don't set it but I always do so not an issue for me. As far as the coverage goes I think it's light to medium depending on how dark your under eyes are. Some days it's enough for me on its own but on others I need corrector underneath. It's a nice concealer for dry, mature skin because it doesn't accentuate the dryness and fine lines but for the price, if you need higher coverage, you'd do better getting something else.
One thing that really annoys me in this concealer is the applicator as it's not useful at all, I don't find the sponge good enough for blending the concealer with so it's just pointless.

Summarising, I really enjoy the foundation, beautiful finish on the skin and decent coverage, not the longest lasting but I can make it day work worth with setting it properly. The concealer is nice but mostly used on top of something with higher coverage, if you don't have very dark under eye and your skin is on drier side then I think you would like it.

Have you tried these new No7 makeup launches?
