Trio for glowing complexion, Kate Somerville ExfoliKate range

I heard about Kate Somerville skincare a few years back on some US beauty channels but because the brand wasn't readily available in UK I wasn't bothered trying anything. I was intrigued though as many people raved about Kate Somerville products so when earlier this year Cult Beauty has become an official UK stockist I eagerly placed an order for the Introductory Kit of her ExfoliKate range, one that has gained many praises. It took me while to finally start using these products but once I've tried them I was immediately hooked.
Kate Somerville Exfolikate skincare set

The ExfoliKate range, which includes Cleanser, Treatment and Moisturiser, contains alpha hydroxy acids (Glycolic and Lactic) and Kate’s ‘three Ps for perfect skin’ (pineapple, pumpkin and papaya enzymes) which all gently exfoliate dull, dead skin cells to reveal brighter, glowing complexion.

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Treatment
Known as ‘The Hollywood 2-minute facial’, ExfoliKate Treatment is Kate Somerville’s bestselling, dual-action exfoliator, which delivers incredible results in as little as one use at the comfort of your home. It uses many active ingredients to exfoliate the skin on different levels revealing smooth and glowing complexion.
- Lactic and Glycolic Acids are natural AHA that “chemically” exfoliates skin, dissolving the bonds between the skin cells (the glue that holds them together) in the upper layers of the skin revealing younger, fresher skin cells and more youthful looking complexion.
- Papaya, Pineapple, and Pumpkin Enzymes 'eat away' dead skin cells helping enhance skin exfoliation.
- Salicylic Acid helps to improve the appearance of pores by exfoliating inside them and getting rid of excess oil and dirt that can block them resulting in breakouts.
- Silica is a natural exfoliant that “physically” exfoliates skin by gently scrubbing away dulled and dry skin.
 - Aloe Vera and Honey helps soothe and condition skin.
- Vitamins A, C and E provide antioxidant benefits.
As you see, this treatment is full of active ingredients and it really make your skin look so much smoother, softer and glowing in just a few minutes. Totally worth trying, especially if you don't tend to spend lots of time on your skincare routine as this one exfoliator will become that quick fix for many of your skin's issues like dullness, texture, fine lines and wrinkles.

Kate Somerville Exfolikate Cleanser
Gently exfoliating, non drying, lightly foaming (formulated without SLS) and purifying cleanser has become my favourite to use in the morning as it removes surface oil and dirt and leaves my skin perfectly clean and ready for the next steps in my skincare routine. It also helps to balance my skin's oil production which is always a bonus for someone with a bit oilier skin like mine. It supposed to be good at removing makeup as well but I've never used it for that purpose as I prefer to use oil based cleansers to melt away my makeup. As a second cleanser at night or morning cleanse.
If your skin is on the drier side I wouldn't probably recommend using this cleanser every day as you might find it ever so slightly drying in the long term.
Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Glow Moisturiser, £55 for 50ml
Water, Cetyl Ricinoleate, Isostearyl Palmitate, Dimethicone, Squalane, Lactic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Propanediol, Glycolic Acid, Myristyl Alcohol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Sodium Hydroxide, Lactobacillus/Pumpkin Fruit Ferment Filtrate, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Bromelain, Papain, Opuntia Ficus-Indica Fruit Extract, Glycerin, Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Extract, Polysilicone-11, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Aniba Rosaeodora (Rosewood) Wood Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Geranium Maculatum Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Phenoxyethanol, Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Myristyl Glucoside, Cyclohexasiloxane, PEG-40 Stearate, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Maltodextrin, Chlorophyllin-Copper

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Glow Moisturiser
Just as the rest of this range the moisturiser contains the duo of AHAs Glycolic and Lactic Acids) and pineapple, pumpkin and papaya enzymes to keep the skin smooth and glowing. Additionally the moisturiser contains Napol Cactus Fruit Extract to help to reduce any potential irritation caused by AHAs, Squalane which balances oil production, providing just enough moisture to keep the skin clear and healthy and humectants like Glycerine to keep your skin hydrated.
The texture of the moisturiser is very lightweight but still feels nicely nourishing on the skin. It absorbs quite quickly leaving the skin instantly glowing. I was amazed at how beautifully radiant my skin looked the very moment I applied the moisturiser without being greasy. I also don't find the moisturiser to make my skin more oily throughout the day so don't be alarmed if you tend to get a bit shiny.
I used the cream in the morning and now moved to a night time and I find it works equally well with my mature, combination skin type.
After my Summer holidays I was battling lots of texture on my skin which was a result of using too many products at once that were containing Shea Butter and probably far then perfect diet, LOL!
A few weeks ago I changed my skincare routine, putting away that could be clogging my pores and started using products more suitable to my skin type, the ExfoliKate range included and slowly but surely my skin is getting to the point where I want to be, smoother, more radiant and just looking healthier.
There are so many products on the market that promise changing your skin for better, some work very well, some don't but I have to say that I am thoroughly enjoying this trio from Kate Somerville and highly recommend checking them out, especially as they're available in a travel size set, perfect to see how the products will work for you.
