L'Occitane TERRE DE LUMIÈRE eau de parfum - Summer evening in a bottle

I'm a massive fragrance lover, I can't go about my day without spritzing some nice scent onto my skin, I use perfume on daily basis, no matter if I go out or stay at home to do housework. I even pick my night time fragrance once I've showered and put my PJ's on :) I am truly obsessed with fragrances and fascinated by them, how they change and develop on the skin and how they trigger memories with one sniff and even change your mood.
I have many perfumes, some of them will be my classics forever repurchased, some are just one time purchase but I'm always eager to try new scents. I usually pick different scents for Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer as there are some notes that I love wrapped around myself in colder weather and some notes that make me feel uplifted in warmer months.
I have been recently sent a beautiful fragrance form L'Occitane which has quickly stolen my heart. I had never tried perfumes from this brand so while I loved the description of the scent I wasn't sure how it will perform on my skin but, luckily, I was impressed.
L'Occitane Terre De Lumiere eau de parfum

L'Occitane TERRE DE LUMIÈRE eau de parfum*, from £59 for 50ml
The first gourmand aromatic fragrance by L’Occitane, Terre de Lumière Eau de Parfum is both fresh and warm, consisting primarily of edible "notes" such as honey and almond. Zesty and aromatic at first, the fragrance melts into an unexpectedly sweet heart of lavender honey, like a dessert for the senses, before settling into sensual balsamic and musky base notes.
Terre de Lumière  (meaning Land of Light) collection was inspired by the 'golden hour' in Provence, south of France, time of the day when the sun is setting and the sky fills in with rich golden and purple hues. It's that time before dusk when you can feel the magic of nature. There's nothing quite as beautiful as watching the sun sets and breathe in all the scents of the nature after long, sunny day. I absolutely adore Summer evenings and although I'm not in Provence and have never been there I can totally imagine the beautiful scenery and all the calming, comforting aromas of plants, flowers in full bloom, sun and earth. I highly recommend you watching this video advertising the scent and you'll be immediately transported in your mind to that beautiful place in France.
L’Occitane Terre de Lumière embodies the contrast between Summery freshness and soft warmth of the magical moment of 'golden hour'.
Top notes: Amber, Pink Pepper, Bergamot
Middle notes: Honey, Lavender
Base notes: Acacia, Tonka Bean, Almond, Musk
I used to love very fresh, aquatic scents for Summer and while I still reach for them every now and then I now prefer scents that are more complex and make me think of balsamic, aromatic, warm, long Summer evenings with the abundance of aromas from all the nature to sun lotions, Summer drinks, BBQs and in general the time of the year when I feel the happiest.
Terre de Lumière opens up with fresh, sharp notes which quickly settle into rich, creamy concoction that will transfer you instantly to Summer evening in the garden. Although quite gourmand fragrance it's not overpowering or too sweet. It melts with my skin making me smell warm and sensual but in a subtle way, it's not offensive and loud but more of an intimate conversation with those who get close enough.
It lasts well over 5 hours on my skin but after that time I usually like to re-apply it.
And how beautiful is the bottle?! It makes me think of sun and sun drenched warm days.
This scent has some similarities with Chanel Coco Mademoiselle (one of my all time favourite scents) and Gurlain Mon Guerlain, but it's fresher and more subtle while still being in the warm, gourmand family of scents.
I can't get enough of this L'Occitane perfume, especially now when the weather is so gloriously sunny and warm and every time I spray it, the aroma makes me think of Summer evenings. I surely will be taking this fragrance on my holidays in August and I can't wait to be sitting in a beach bar/restaurant, watching sunset, with a cocktail in my hand and smelling of Terre de Lumière :)
What's your favourite Summer fragrance at the moment?
