For every budget: deep cleansing/de-congesting, exfoliating face masks

I love face masks, they're the quick fix your skin needs whether it's looking dull, experiencing some breakouts or feels dehydrated after one too many glasses of wine over the weekend. I use different face masks 3- 4 times a week, sometimes I just use one that helps to tackle an issue I might have that day, some days I pamper my skin with 2, 3 face masks, one after the other, for a facial at home experience.
In today's 'For every budget' post (check out the other one here) I want to share with you three fabulous face masks which deeply cleanse the skin, exfoliate it, make it smoother, texture more refined, pores less visible and overall much clearer complexion.
Every one of them does all these things, with some small differences, so depending on your disposable budget you can get yourself a little gem.
Deep cleansing/clay masks are usually recommended for oily to normal skin types but I believe every skin, even dry, can benefit from decongestion every now and then.
My skin is normal to oily so I tend to use clay masks 1 - 2 times a week to keep my oils at bay and pores clear and refined.

Pure Skin Remedy Deep Cleansing Mask
Pure is Marks & Spencer own beauty brand, their products are created with 95% natural British ingredients responsibly sourced, are free from artificial colours, parabens and synthetic fragrances.
This Deep Cleansing Mask is rich in Cornish Clay (kaolin) and Dorset Charcoal Powder to draw out impurities from the skin, refine its texture and reduce any breakouts.
Clay masks tend to be a bit drying due to their nature but I didn't find this face mask overly drying as long as I don't keep it on for too long. It contains some hydrating and nourishing ingredients like glycerine, starflower seed oil, camelina sativa seed oil, kernel oat oil, wheat germ oil which protect the skin and lessen the drying effects of clay.
The face masks also contains some exfoliating particles so once you remove it with a  damp cloth you give your skin a good scrub, I find it a bit abrasive so I always make sure to be very gentle on my skin. Afterwards I'm left with very smooth, glowing complexion, hungry for some extra hydration and nourishment so I always follow with another face mask to soothe and hydrate the skin.

Essential oil.
Origins Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay
I used to love the Origins Original Skin serum a few years back so I was very excited to finally try the face mask from the same range and I was not disappointed.
Just as it claims, it leaves my skin's texture much more refined, pores less visible and just clearer complexion. In addition to Rose Clay which draws out the impurities from the skin, it contains Jojoba Beads to gently buff away dead skin cells once you're ready to remove your mask. Out of the three face masks I'm talking about today this is the most gentle one but still very effective at leaving the complexion smooth, clear and refined. It also smells delicately or roses which is an added bonus.
GlamGlow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment*, £42 for 50g
Water\aqua\eau, montmorillonite, kaolin, magnesium aluminum silicate, silica, pumice, camellia sinensis leaf, cucumis sativus (cucumber) fruit extract, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) extract, hedera helix (ivy) extract, symphytum officinale (comfrey) leaf extract, camellia oleifera leaf extract, glycerin, tocopheryl acetate, calendula officinalis extract, ethylhexylglycerin, hexylene glycol, lavandula hybrida (lavandin) oil, caprylyl glycol, pvp, xanthan gum, fragrance (parfum), hexyl cinnamal, linalool, benzyl benzoate, limonene, cinnamal, chlorphenesin, phenoxyethanol iln42928.
GlamGlow YouthMud Tinglexfoliate Treatment
I tried this face mask a few years ago when I first started blogging and remember being a bit underwhelmed by it as it promises you almost a new skin, LOL!
But at that time my skin was definitely worse then it is now, even though it's hard to believe as I've aged, but knowing good skincare and how to take care of your skin is vital, so when I was sent the Youthmud Treatment recently I was excited to give it another go. And now I totally get the hype of this face mask, it really gives me much clearer, brighter, glowing complexion!
Originally designed as a 10-minute professional 'facial in a jar' for behind-the-scenes use in Hollywood's Entertainment, Music, Fashion & Award industries. It gives immediate effect but it's definitely an intense treatment that might not be suitable for sensitive skin.
It tingles upon the application and you know instantly that the mask is working on your skin, the sensation shouldn't be very uncomfortable or painful though. French Sea Clay absorbs impurities and toxic substances from your skin without stripping it from its natural oils.
Volcanic pumice rock exfoliates the skin for much smoother, softer complexion, but be very gentle when removing the face mask as it is quite abrasive.
Green tea leaf pieces, (GlamGlow's patented TEAOXI technology), deliver super antioxidants, and polyphenols directly into the mud from the real pieces of tea leaf for healthier skin.

Quite an intense treatment but it gives instant results, after only 10 minutes my skin does look like after a professional facial. I don't use this face mask too often as I don't need such an intensive mechanical exfoliation while using acid exfoliators regularly but every couple of weeks I give my skin that extra deep cleanse for lasting smoothness and glow.
Have you used any of these face masks? Which deep cleansing/clay masks are your favourites?
