Updating my Winter skincare routine with Embryolisse products

Winter is a though time for our skin, the indoor heating, cold weather, winds and frosty temperatures can make it really dry, dehydrated and irritated. I used to battle those skin issues every year but this time round I found products that have been helping my skin to stay in its best condition despite the cold weather. I try to keep my skincare routine quite simple and stick to the same set of products for at least 4 weeks to let them work their magic and my skin get accustomed to new formulas. In the weeks leading up to Christmas I was testing loads of new products and changing my skincare routines too quickly which resulted in my skin not being happy and paying off with breakouts and congestion so I have learnt my lesson :)
By the end of last year I was kindly sent these three Embryolisse products to try and once the festive season was over and my diet consisted again of something else then just cakes, cheese and wine, haha!, I implemented these into my skincare routine and have had them in my rotation since.
Despite the cold weather and heaters working non stop in our house my skin hasn't been dehydrated, it's soft and plumped which is certainly down to some greatly hydrating and nourishing products, the Embryolisse offerings being some of them (also Merumaya tonners and Pixi Rose Caviar Essence have been working wonders).

Embryolisse Lait - Creme Concentre
If you're a beauty junkie/enthusiast like me chances are you've at least heard about this cult moisturiser if not used it yourself. Created over 50 years ago this creamy lotion is 6 in 1 multi-tasker: primer, moisturiser, make-up remover, repairing mask, an after-shave cream, and a care product. A real beauty secret which has been used by makeup artists on photo shoots and recommended by dermatologists for decades. It's a combination of ingredients of natural origin, rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins, it hydrates and nourishes the skin leaving it instantly smoother and plumper.
I always feared that this moisturiser will be too heavy for my skin but it feels actually quite lightweight once applied to the skin, it's not greasy and it doesn't make my skin oily during the day. It leaves my skin velvety soft and smoothed hence it works perfect as a base for makeup. I noticed my foundation applies very smoothly over this moisturiser and last well throughout the day although its usual wear time is not extended. While I don't think I would be keen on using this moisturiser during Summer on my combination/oily skin it's absolutely perfect for Winter time.
My only concern is that it contains Shea Butter and my skin is not a big fan of this ingredient so I can't use this moisturiser every single day, otherwise I will end up with very congested skin and some breakouts. But used 2, 3 times a week or when my skin feels particularly dry, parched this is a fantastic moisturiser.
I've not used it as makeup remover but I like using it on my hands or dry parts of my body like elbows and it works very well at hydrating and protecting my skin.
And how adorable is this limited edition packaging created as a tribute from the brand to Paris, the city of light, capital of fashion where the whole story began.

Embryolisse Rich Moisturising Cream
Another amazing moisturiser for dry/dehydrated skin and thankfully created without the addition of Shea Butter, instead we have intensely hydrating and nourishing Sweet Almond Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, natural Wheat Proteins, Beeswax and Vitamins A, E, F and Lactic Acid to stimulate cell renewal for smoother, brighter complexion.
The moisturiser feels richer then the Lait-Crème Concentree but it's not heavy or greasy. I've used it in the morning and in the evening, whenever I feel like my skin needs extra hydration and nourishment and didn't have any issue with it. It leaves my skin instantly hydrated and soothed but it also works in long term to keep the dehydration at bay.
I highly recommend this moisturiser to anyone battling dry, flaky, Winter skin as it's a real game changer.

Embryolisse Intense Smooth Radiant Complexion

This moisturiser is formulated for mature skin so if you're still in your 20s (you lucky thing, lol!) you really don't need it. It claims to erase the signs of tiredness, instantly lifts the face, erases fine lines and relaxes features. It contains Omega 9 which restructures the skin and promotes skin elasticity and firmness, plant extracts of Alfafa and Lupine stimulate collagen production which we all know is secret of skin staying younger for longer, inclusion of Vitamin E helps protect against premature ageing by neutralising fee radicals and Hyaluronic Acid hydrates the skin, makes it look plumper and wrinkles less prominent.
Unfortunately for me it contains Shea Butter as well which is nourishing and hydrating but, sadly, my skin gets too easily congested when it gets too much of this ingredient, so I was only using this, moisturiser 2, 3 times a week, not enough to see the long term benefits but I have to agree that it's incredibly smoothing and makes my skin look instantly perkier which is a good sign. Although it's a rich moisturiser it doesn't feel too heavy so those with dry or/and very mature skin could use it day and night. It can be also used right under the eyes.
After using it at night my skin looks nourished and radiant in the morning. I will continue using it on my neck and décolletage as it's a really good anti-aging moisturiser and I wish my skin would agree with all the ingredients.
