Merumaya Retinol Resurfacing Treatment - the retinol treatment even for the most sensitive skin

I have talked about Super Facialist Retinol range not long ago on my blog and how good the products were for my skin. But being a beauty blogger and beauty junkie means that there are many products in my skincare stash waiting for their turn, so after testing new products for 4-6 weeks I usually move onto something else, often returning to those half used up lotions and potions at a later date.
This time I could not wait to start testing out another retinol product, the Merumaya Retinol Resurfacing Treatment*, so I passed the Super Facialist range onto my mum, who is thoroughly enjoying using it and I have started trialling the Merumaya offering.
I've been using the Retinol Resurfacing Treatment for a little over 4 weeks and I'm excited to share with you my thoughts on it.

Retinol can be often associated with dry and peeling skin so many people are scared of using products with it which is a shame as it's one of the best skincare ingredients that can make the aging skin look more youthful and slow down the visible effects of aging process by speeding up cell turnover, brightening the skin, boosting collagen production, minimising the wrinkles and pores so the skin looks younger. In addition Retinol helps scarring to fade/heal faster, reduces dark spots and hyperpigmentation so it's a good friend for those of us suffering with acne and breakouts.
Merumaya Retinol Treatment contains  stabilised version of Retinol - Vitamin A Palmitate, which has the efficacy of Retinol without any of the irritation or skin flakiness. The formula is enriched with a number of powerful anti-inflammatory ingredients to significantly calm and soothe the skin, so even those who have had irritation from Retinol before, can use the Treatment without worry.
Maleka, the founder of Merumaya says:
"I insisted we use the maximum level of stabilised Retinol, which is Vitamin A Palmitate. In the EU that is 0.3%. I know you can get much higher concentrations in American brands, but I am not comfortable with what the photosensitive damage will be if someone does not use effective sun protection during the day."
To boost to the retinol-action they've added Sea Fennel extract to the Treatment, which means we get the action of cell turnover but without increasing the inflammatory action that happens with Retinol.
The Merumaya Retinol Resurfacing Treatment has a unique combination of Retinol with Matrixyl 3000 Peptide which has been proven to deliver great results to help repair skin and undo signs of ageing.
The Treatment contains two different sizes of Hyaluronic Acid molecules so they penetrate skin deeper and retain moisture on different levels of dermis.
Another great ingredient in this Treatment is Squalane - component of the skin’s natural lipid barrier, derived from Olive Oil which supports and reinforces the skin’s natural moisture barrier.
Other skin loving ingredients like Glycerin and Sweet Almond Oil help to moisturise and nourish the skin.

Merumaya Retinol Resurfacing Treatment comes in a container with airless pump which is perfect to keep all the important ingredients effective for longer. It has a consistency of a lightweight moisturiser with subtle scent which dissipates quickly. Two pumps of it is enough for my face and neck, the product is quickly absorbing and leaves my skin feeling instantly smoother, softer and well hydrated.
I've been using the Treatment for over 4 weeks, 4 times a week, (I skip it on days I use the Omorovicza Midnight Radiance Mask or other exfoliating treatments), and I have noticed a big difference in how much smoother and plumper my skin is, my pores are more refined, fine lines diminished and I just love the way my skin looks at the moment.
I haven't experienced any irritation while using the Merumaya Retinol Treatment, I've not had breakouts and my pores aren't getting as clogged as they're used to.
I usually apply the Treatment over my cleansed skin and then follow with additional moisturiser or facial oil, but some days I leave it on its own and it's hydrating and nourishing enough for me.
I can't recommend the Merumaya offering enough, especially for those of you who have very sensitive skin or are scared of products with Retinol, because it's gentle, not irritating yet still very effective.
Although I have used in the past products with higher concentration of Retinol I'm not in a rush to come back to them because I feel like I don't need to worry as much when using something less 'active'. So I can still use my usual chemical peels and other products without irritating my skin.

Even though I've used it quite a bit I still have left about 2/3 of the product so will continue to use it and I can see myself repurchasing it in the future.
Because Retinol increases our skin's sensitivity to sun rays is very important to use during the day a moisturiser with SPF or, even better, a separate SPF product to protect the skin from photo-damage.
Have you tried Merumaya Retinol Resurfacing Treatment? What's your favourite Retinol treatment?
