Trialling... some drugstore liquid lipsticks

I don't know about you but I want my lipsticks to be very pigmented, opaque and ideally long lasting. I don't really enjoy sheer finishes which don't survive even my morning coffee. So liquid lipsticks are one of my favourite formulas as they're usually pretty long wearing. But they also can be quite drying, especially those with true matte finish, and these are a big 'no-no' from me too. Not too much to please me, is there? LOL!
Today I want to share with you some liquid lipsticks from 3 different drugstore brands which not only are well pigmented and fairly long lasting but also comfortable on the lips.
GOSH Liquid Matte Lips, The Body Shop Matte Lip Liquid Lipstick, Bourjois Rouge Laque

GOSH Liquid Matte Lips, £8.99

This is actually my first purchase from this brand, exclusive to Superdrug (UK) and I'm very pleased with it. The formula of these liquid lipsticks is quite creamy and very pigmented. The finish, despite the name, is not really matte, I'd say is more on the satin side, with some glossiness right after application. These lipsticks don't dry down completely, they remain slightly tacky for the whole time of wearing them, not really sticky like a gloss but you feel the tackiness when you smack your lips together, yet they don't get patchy when you do so. Because of this formula they do transfer on your cup, etc. but the pigment is so strong that you need a proper greasy meal to make that lipstick wear off. Light snacking and drinks will only make the lipstick disappear slightly from the centre of your lips but it's hardly visible. Being this long lasting these lipsticks are very comfortable to wear, they don't dry out my lips and are easy to re-apply if I need it.
I picked two shades: Pink Sorbet, bright blue based pink and Nougat Fudge, deep peachy brown nude. There are 8 shades in total to choose from.
The skinny, slanted doe foot applicator carries enough product for a full lips application. I wouldn't recommend applying a thick layer of this lipstick as it would be even tackier and would feel heavy on the lips, one dip in the tube is all you need to spread it all over your lips.
The formula is enriched with Dandelion which prevents lips from drying out and LiPerfection proven to increase the instant blood flow in the capillaries after one application, which as a result increases the volume of the lips.
I don't think my lips look more voluminous but they certainly look plump and stay hydrated throughout the time of wearing these liquid lipsticks.
If you're familiar with Colourpop Satin Lips then I think you would like the GOSH offering as they're fairly similar.

The Body Shop Matte Lip Liquid Lipstick

The Body Shop Matte Lip Liquid Lipstick, Nairobi Camellia, swatch
Shade: Nairobi Camellia
I haven't heard anyone talking about these liquid lipsticks so when I was placing a little order on The Body Shop website not long ago I've decided to try one of them. I picked the shade Nairobi Camellia which is a beautiful rosy nude, my kind of colour. There are 12 different shades to choose from, from nude to deep purple.
The formula of this liquid lipstick reminds NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, it has similar mousse-like texture with velvety matte finish. But I like this one better as I find the formula more opaque when applied on the lips. The lipstick dries down to a true matte finish, but it doesn't accentuate lip lines, it transfer on cups etc. very lightly and it lasts a few hours with minimal eating in the meantime, it does need reapplying after a proper meal though. It feels very lightweight on the lips, almost like nothing but after a few hours I found it a bit drying so I either use a creamy lip liner underneath, if I want the matte look, or apply a lip gloss on top, the L'Oreal Dazzle in shade Disco Ball is fantastic for that if I want a bit of sparkle on my lips.
The applicator of this liquid lipstick is very small and helps to precisely apply the lipstick on the lips but I need to dip it in the tube couple of times to get the desired amount of product. The formula of this lipstick smells deliciously of fruity candies, don't try to it though :)

Bourjois Rouge Laque

Last but not least I want to share with you my thoughts on these new liquid lipsticks from Bourjois. I'm not a big fan of the Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks as I find them a bit drying, or the Souffle de Velvet as they're too sheer for my liking but just had to try the new formula of the Rouge Laque.
And I'm glad I did because it's really fabulous!
These are liquid lipsticks which dry down to a glossy finish, they're not like gloss but they remain shiny for the whole time of wearing them, they also don't feel tacky nor sticky. They feel ultra lightweight on the lips, very hydrating yet they last a good 4-5 hours before needing a touch up. They leave a pretty stain behind so if you're too busy/lazy to reapply your lipstick you're still be fine. They do transfer a little on the cups, etc. but they're fairly smudge-free on the lips and you don't need a lip liner, even with the brighter shades, unless you want a very crisp lip line.
The doe foot applicator is small and precise but you need a few dips in the tube to get desire intensity and opaqueness on the lips. They apply quite sheerly at first and look lighter, so I like to build them up which is very easy to do as the layers dry pretty quickly.
The lipstick has a very subtle scent which dissipates as soon as it's on the lips.
I am slightly obsessed with these liquid lipsticks, they're so easy to wear and look so pretty with the glossy finish, perfect for Summer. There are only 8 shades to choose from and I wish there were more.
Have you tried any of these liquid lipsticks? Do you prefer liquid lipsticks or the traditional creamy bullet formula?
