October beauty favourites

Happy Halloween, guys! I can't believe we're saying 'goodbye' to October already! And in no time we'll be all feeling pretty festive and getting ready for the exciting part of the year which is Christmas.
Today I want to talk to you about a few products that I've been almost obsessed with in the last few weeks and, strangely, it's all makeup although I've been very much into skincare lately. But I have some skincare posts planned for later so let's focus on the makeup this time.

October beauty favourites

Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in1 Foundation + Concealer, I've been raving about this foundation for weeks now but for a good reason because it's a great product for such an affordable price! It provides a good medium to full coverage with satin finish that doesn't look cakey. On those 'no makeup' makeup days I sheer it out by applying a bit less and getting a lighter coverage. It doesn't accentuate dry patches or pores and lines and it just looks beautiful on the skin. And it lasts very well throughout the day on me. I have combination skin and I find the foundation doesn't get too oily but I need to blot my T-Zone after about 4-5 hours to get rid of a bit of shine. Other then that the foundation looks perfect for up to 10 hours on my skin. If your skin is very oily you probably need a good mattifying primer underneath to help keeping your oils at bay.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Surreal Light palette

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Surreal Light palette, (review), every since I got the palette at the beginning of the month I kept reaching for it almost daily, I love it as much as I do my last year's one! My favourite shades from this palette are the large finishing powder, Surreal Light, which add the beautiful soft focus finish to my makeup, the bronzer, Surreal Bronze Light, which has the perfect neutral tone that doesn't look too orange or too cool and it gives me a nice tanned, luminous look without being too intense and the blush, Surreal Glow, although looking very pale it brings just the right amount of colour to my cheeks and beautiful, natural looking glow. I'm obsessed!

Makeup Geek eyeshadows custom palette

I have lots of eyeshadow palettes and try to rotate them on regular basis so every one gets to be used as much use as possible, but one that has been constantly on top of my vanity is my custom made Makeup Geek eyeshadow palette. I have way more MUG eyeshadows but these are the ones that are perfect for everyday use and for this time of year so I just put them together in a large Z-palette and reach for them very often. I love having my matte white and black eyeshadows which I use every time I do my eye makeup, no matter how simple, I love the variety of crease shades and if I fancy more complicated eye look I have plenty of shimmery shades to incorporate into the look. If you haven't tried Makeup Geek eyeshadows I highly recommend them, as the quality is really great and you can create your perfect palette choosing only the shades you know you'll wear.

Colourpop Notion, Colourpop Viper, Urban Decay Ravenswood

When it comes to lipsticks I was either going for something quick and easy to wear when rushing in the mornings or for something bold and long lasting. My favourite picks in the last few weeks have been:

NYX Matte Lipstick in Whipped Caviar, you know how much I love these lipsticks and this shade is the perfect mauve nude that brightens my face without looking too much, very comfortable to wear and lasts 3-4 hours on the lips even with some light snacking and drinking.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Ravenswood, I love Urban Decay lipsticks, this shade is from the cream finish line which means it feels hydrating on the lips, yet it still lasts up to 3 hours on the lips, packs a punch in terms of pigmentation and it's just a joy to use. Ravenswood is a beautiful muted rose colour, perfect everyday shade.

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Notion and Viper, I had heard before that these lipsticks are very drying but maybe the brand has changed the formula because I find them very comfortable on the lips considering how matte the finish is and how long lasting they are. They have very liquid-y formula but they apply easy without getting patchy, once they dry you can eat and drink and they're still on your lips, fading ever so slightly in the middle of the lips if you start eating greasier food, they don't flake and don't look super dry on the lips accentuating every line. I'm really a big fan of this formula and in love with both shades!

Last but not least I want to talk about nail polish topcoat which is pretty amazing!
Essie Nail Topcoat Gel Couture, I tried the new range of Essie nail polishes a while ago and I was impressed with how well they wore on my nails but this topcoat works very well with any nail polish making it last longer then it would without it. I use it now every time I do my manicure and I can be sure my nails will look pretty good for at least 5 days which was unheard of me before. I highly recommend the whole range but if you already have many nail polishes but struggle with them chipping on your nails quickly try this new topcoat from Essie and thank me later :)

So these are all my most favourite beauty products of the last few weeks. What have you been loving lately?
