May beauty favourites

It's almost half of June and I'm finally bringing you my May beauty favourites, but I'm still loving every single product in this post so the date doesn't really matter. All of these products were with me on my holidays and I enjoyed using them every day without missing anything that stayed at home so they really deserve a recognition on the blog :)

May beauty favourites

My skincare routine varies from morning to night and slightly from day to day but one product that it's been always present is the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater. I've been loving this mist for a long time now and repurchased it a few times, I use it as my hydrating tonner and it really adds hydration to my skin. I use it also during the day to refresh my skin if it's hot and the mist is fine enough not to disturb the makeup. I've tried other facial mist but, so far, this is the best for me, especially at this price point.

Finding the perfect facial SPF product that wouldn't feel greasy and heavy and it would be good under makeup is not easy but after some fails I settled on Eucerin Mattifying Sun Fluid which has a very thin consistency, it gets absorbed quickly without leaving oily residue or white overcast and it works very well under makeup. I'm currently using the SPF30 one but I had previously the SPF50 and it was equally as good. I highly recommend it if you struggle to find a good facial SPF.

Not long before going on my holidays I got the latest Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint* (review) and it was one of my base products I took with me to Spain. It was my favourite foundation to use in the evenings, lightweight and natural looking yet it evens out my skin tone and makes it look perfected, it blurs my large pores and lasts very well for 6-7 hours even without a primer underneath.

Another base product that travelled with me to Spain and one that I discovered and fell in love with not long ago although it was in my makeup drawer for a year is the Laura Geller Balance 'N Brighten Baked Foundation which I like to use to set my foundation with or on its own what I was doing many times while on holidays. It gives light coverage on its own but it has amazing abilities to blur imperfection and adds beautiful natural glow to the skin. Combined with the Nars Velvet Skin Tint give me a great Summer base, lightweight, slightly luminous but my skin looks very perfected. I have almost finished the deluxe sample of this powder but I will definitely buy a full size.

Another product that I can't stop using since getting it a month or so ago it's the W7 Hollywood Bronze & Glow palette, I got it after reading some reviews stating that it's a good alternative for the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow and for less then £3 I wasn't risking much money. And to my big surprise I really like the bronzer, it gives my skin the 'sun kissed' look, adds a bit of glow as it contains some golden micro-shimmer without being too shimmery and the highlighter is quite pretty too. I've been using this duo almost daily and highly recommend checking this out if you have a similar skin tone to mine, paler complexions might find the bronzer a bit orange-y.

Every time we go on holidays I like to pick a new scent that it will always remind me that time and this time I chose the Chopard Happy Spirit Bouquet d'Amour which I bought a while ago from Fragrance Direct. I like to browse the selection of perfumes on that website as they have lots to choose from, some are discontinued lines or limited edition at much reduced price. Sometimes I like to risk when it comes to perfumes, especially if they're on the cheaper side and order something just because I like the bottle and the scent description. And that was the case of the Chopard perfume, I had never tried any of their fragrances but loved how the Happy Spirit sounded so ordered it. And I'm glad I did cause I'm loving this scent for Summer, it's slightly fruity with floral notes of Rose and Peony but also a bit of spiciness which makes it a very interesting scent, it's perfect for any time, during a day or night and it has a really good staying power on my skin. And of course every time I use it now the scent takes me back to our recent holidays :)

I've been really enjoying wearing bright lipsticks lately, especially while being away my 'go to' makeup was a simple eye look and hot pink or coral lips (just like in this makeup look). Couple of my absolute favourites in the last weeks have been:
ColourPop Matte X Lippie Stix in Poppin', fuchsia pink with very matte finish but excellent formula which is super lightweight and not drying but it lasts for hours and NYX Matte Lipstick in Angel, beautiful pink coral with satin finish, amazing pigmentation and very good staying power while feeling hydrating on the lips.

Which beauty products have you been loving lately? Have any of my picks been on your favourites list?
