What's in my holiday makeup bag?

On Wednesday my family and I are going on holidays to sunny Benalmadena, Costa Del Sol in Spain and I couldn't be more excited. I don't know about you but I love getting ready for any sort of 'going away' occasion, planning my outfits and choosing clothes, accessories I want to take and of course my beauty bits. I thought it would be fun to share with you the content of my makeup bag which will be going with me on holidays.

It wasn't the easiest or quickest decision to pick up just a few products from my excessive collection but I managed to do it letting myself having some options but also being sure that everything would fit in my makeup bag. I wanted to take with me things that are not bulky and travel friendly, so not glass packaging here. I also prefer to leave at home my more expensive products in case of any damage or lost that may happen during traveling and while being away. But at the same time I want great products with me so I chose items that I know they work well with my skin and I truly enjoy using them.

Base products

I'm taking with me Rimmel Stay Matte Primer cause it keeps my oils at bay all day and also couple of samples of Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield SPF30 which I've tried before and really liked it especially that it has high SPF, perfect for adding extra protection to my face.

I opted for two foundations, Nars Velvet Skin Tint SPF30 in St. Moritz (review) and Bourjois Air Mat in Light Beige (review), both are similar in terms of coverage and lasting power but the Bourjois is a bit lighter in tone which suits me now and the Nars one will be better when my skin is a bit more tanned.

I'm taking only one concealer, Maybelline Fit Me in shade 10 which is great all rounder, it works well for my under eyes and I can apply it anywhere on the face when needed.

I like to have the Inglot HD Contouring Powder in shade 503 to set my under eye concealer but I also always set my foundation so I'm taking with me Laura Geller Balance 'N Brighten Baked Foundation in Medium cause I've been loving it to give my skin luminosity and blurring effect but I can also use it on its own to even out my skin tone without having to use any cream products. I also want to have with me the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder in shade 52 cause it works well with the Bourjois foundation and it helps to keep my oils at bay and I'm not sure how my skin will be behaving in a much warmer weather so I prefer to be prepared.

Setting spray
I've had this tiny setting spray from W7 The Fixer for a while and it's just the perfect size to throw it in the makeup bag. Although super cheap it is actually really good at keeping makeup in place and if I'll made the effort to apply it for the evening I will want it to stay flawless in any weather for all night or at least until I collapse on my bed with tiredness because let's be honest, I'm not 20 anymore and staying up most of the night is a thing of a past, LOL!

Colourpop highlighter dream catcher

I've been absolutely in love with this super affordable W7 Hollywood Bronze & Glow duo, the bronzer has a beautiful colour to add a bit of sun kissed look to my skin and very subtle glow, it blends like a dream and stays without going patchy or disappearing after couple of hours so it's definitely going with me on holidays. To add a bit of contour for an evening look I will have with me Inglot HD Contouring Powder in shade 508.

For a subtle sheen I will use the champagne gold highlighter from the W7 Hollywood Bronze & Glow palette and for more serious glow I'm taking with me ColourPop Highlighter in Dream Catcher which has amazing duo-chrome effect (unfortunately not caught on the picture), it's a champagne gold with peach shift to it, is absolutely stunning. I will be talking about my new purchases from ColourPop after I'm back from holidays so stay tuned for that :)

I like to have a few options when it comes to blushes to complement well the makeup I'm wearing and this beautiful palette from Too Faced Love Flush 16H Blush Wardrobe (review) is just perfect as it contains so many shades from nude, pink to coral and it's sleek and small to travel with.

Eye products
too faced sweet peach palette

Even though I often prime my eye lids with just a bit of concealer if I want my eyeshadows to perform the best I use a primer and this Freedom Makeup Eye Primer is great and super affordable.

Now, that was a difficult decision! LOL! As you know I have lots of palettes so to choose just one to take away with me took me some time but I decided to pick the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette, even though it's not the best palette I own but it has everything I may need for different makeup looks and the shade selection is definitely Summery so it seems like a great option to have it on my holidays and I'm having 18 shades in a relatively small, sleek palette.

Eye liners
NYX Wonder Pencil in Light is my everyday essential to line my water line for an illusion of more rested and bigger eyes so it's a must on holidays as well. I'm also taking Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in case of having the desire to create a wing liner and Makeup Geek Full Spectrum Pencil in Espresso which is a gorgeous deep brown shade perfect to line lashes or to smoke it out for a quick and long lasting eye look.

My current favourite which I just repurchased, L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes in Feline, I should probably take something waterproof but as I'm not planning to wear any makeup during the day it shouldn't be a big problem.

To add some shape and definition to my brows I will be using Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wizz in Soft Brown.

I am also taking a pair of very natural looking false lashes by Ardell in case one evening I want to take my eye makeup to a more glamorous level :)

Summer lipsticks

Summer lipsticks swatches

Ok, so I know the amount of lipsticks I'm taking with me is a bit excessive, but I need them, haha!

I chose a few shades from the NYX Matte Lipsticks range cause I absolutely love their formula and I adore these shades. Now looking at the swatches I will probably leave Whipped Caviar at home cause it's very similar to Tea Rose and I do prefer the latter for Summer.

I also have to take with me my favourite everyday nude, it's the Bourjois Rouge Edition in Rose Tweed.

And of course I couldn't forget about some of my ColourPop lipsticks as they're one of my favourites, the Lippe Stix Matte X in shade Poppin' is just perfect hot pink for holidays and the Ultra Satin Lip in Naked Ladies just screams Summer to me. I threw in my bag another ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip, cause I adore their formula, in shade Echo Park which is a peachy nude, perfect to wear on its own or to mix it with Naked Ladies for a muted orange coral.

So this is the content of my holiday makeup bag, I know it's a lot of products to take for 10 days but, you know, a girl needs to have some options :)

I will be taking a blogging break while on holidays so follow me on Instagram or add me on Snapchat (mummysbeauty) for some snaps from my holidays, if you're nosey, haha!
I will talk to you all on my blog in 2 weeks time!
