Makeup through the decades - the roundup of the series

If you've been a regular reader of my blog then you've probably seen my 'Makeup through the decades' series. For over 5 months every couple of weeks, or so, I was presenting my take on makeup trends of the decade starting with 1920s finishing at 2000s. Many of you supported the idea and my posts which I'm very grateful for and appreciate every single comment, thank you!
I had so much fun researching how the makeup trends have been changing through the decades and choosing the most characteristic ones to create my makeup which would represent in the best way the particular decade.

Makeup through the decades

If you have missed the series or would like to re-visit some of the posts I thought it would be a good idea to do a roundup of all of them in one.

Let me know which decade is your favourite?
I love the 50s glamour, I think it's so timeless and still perfect to wear nowadays. I also like the natural makeup look of 1990s, I am a big fan of all those brown-ish, mauve lip colours that were so popular at that time. As I love smokey eye look I have to say that I really like the 2000s trends which are just what I normally go for in my evening makeup.

The most unusual and a bit disastrous makeup trends were in 80s in my opinion, although they were fun, aristic and definitely very recognisable. Looking through the decades it's quite obvious how after a very bold makeup trends was coming a decade of natural looks and then again back to more experimental and daring ones. I think it's really interesting to see how the trends were changing and were influenced by music, politics, or general changes in the world.

I hope you enjoyed the 'Makeup through the decades' series as much as I did creating it.

I'd love to start another series of posts incorporating makeup looks and although I have some ideas I'd love you to give me some suggestions. What would you like to see me doing next?

Just a little disclaimer, I'm not a makeup artist or makeup expert so everything I do, makeup related, is just from the perspective of a woman who has been loving and experimenting with makeup for 15 years or so :)

Have a lovely weekend!
