Beauty favourites of 2015

Happy New Year all! Hope you all had great Christmas and relaxing Holidays.
Even though I was battling an awful cold for most of the time I did enjoy that special time with my family. There were very relaxing and lazy days and it feels difficult to come back to my usual routine but I'm getting there. I'm also back on the blogging front and today I want to share with you my 2015 beauty favourites, products which impressed me the most amongst all of those that I had the chance to try last year.

Lip products
2015 was officially my year of lipstick, apart from eyeshadow palettes which will always be my favourite makeup item, lipsticks have become my newest obsession. I have finally tried liquid lipsticks and I absolutely love how much more long lasting they are comparing to classic lipsticks and how opaque the formula is. I will definitely be trying some other brands in the new year.
Another favourite formulas of lipsticks I've tried last year is Nars Audacious Lipsticks, I've been in love with shade Vivien and Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in shade After Dark (review), both of them have excellent pigmentation, they're opaque in one swipe, have semi matte finish and last very well on the lips. Can't wait to add more shades from both ranges to my collection.
There were also two nude lipsticks that I was wearing nearly every time I didn't know what to wear or wanted pink-ish nude lips: Clinique Pop Lip Colour & Primer in Nude Pop ( review) and Mac lipstick in Brave, both gorgeous shades and very nice formulas with Mac one being a bit longer lasting on the lips as it has a satin finish and the Clinique one is a bit more of a lustre.

Base products
I have tried many primers and foundations this year and if I had to choose just one of each it would be the Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Primer (review) and Vichy Dermablend Foundation (review). When I need a long wearing base with great coverage but not looking cakey these two products do the job perfectly.
I've not tried too many concealers last year but one that I've been very happy with is the Maybelline Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Eye, it covers my dark under eye area very well, it doesn't look dry and it doesn't crease, it blends effortlessly into the skin, not to mention it's very affordable.
I always set my base products with a powder to ensure that everything stays in place for longer and blush, bronzer apply nicer on top of it and I have a few powders that I like but one powder that I can't be without and nothing seems to compare is the Inglot HD Contour Powder #503 which I use to set my under eye concealer and it's absolutely perfect for me, it's silky smooth, finally milled, it doesn't settle into fine lines and subtly but effectively brightens the under eyes.

Cheek products
Although I'm not obsessed with bronzers, blushes they are without a doubt products that I reach for every time I do my makeup as they just bring some life and dimension to my face. I haven't got a favourite bronzer yet but these three blushes were definitely my most used cheek products of 2015: Max Factor Crème Puff Blush in Nude Mauve, perfect for a minimal makeup look and busy mornings to add some colour and definition to my cheeks with very minimal effort, and in Seductive Pink, beautiful subtle dusty rose, great with almost any makeup look. I absolutely love formula of these blushes, they're silky soft, blend easily and add a bit of luminosity to my skin.
Another cheek product that I have used tons is the Freedom Makeup Pro Glow in shade Purr, it's a bronzer/blush with a pink-ish nude shade that adds a bit of colour, definition and radiance to my cheeks without being OTT and can be used half asleep as you can't do any damage to yourself with it.

Eye products
Eyeshadow palettes are my biggest weakness and I bought lots of them last year and while I love most of them if I have to choose my favourite discovery of 2015 it wold be Zoeva palettes (recent review), amazing quality, great selection of shades and not too expensive. I have all the Zoeva palettes and I don't regret buying any of them, they're one of my favourite eyeshadows in my extensive collection.
When it comes to my brows I'm still not entirely happy with how do they look and I don't think I have found 'the one' product to fill them in but the Inglot Brow Pomade in shade #16 has been my favourite of 2015.
I have tried quite a few mascaras last year and I do have a few favourites but I decided to narrow the number down to two mascaras which perform the best on my lashes: Benefit Roller Lash Mascara and Eye Of Horus Goddess Mascara, both give my lashes length, volume and lightly curl them and stay that way all day.

2015 was the year when my skincare game has changed and my skin's appearance has improved significantly. I had the opportunity to try many amazing skincare products (read about my Ole Henriksen routine) and I have learnt what exactly my skin needs. I know that my skin love products with Glycolic Acid and AHA, thanks to them it looks so much better. A few of my favourites are: Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Treatment (not pictured), Merumaya Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel, Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish (review), REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask.
I have also got to love facial oils, they nourish and hydrate my skin like nothing else, my favourites of 2015 are Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Youth Activating Oil and Marula Facial Oil (review).

I adore perfumes and have some firm favourites that have been with me for years but my new discovery in 2015 which I absolutely love is without a doubt the original Chloe perfume, it's such a beautiful feminine, floral scent, it's more of a Spring/Summer scent for me and I can't wait to enjoy wearing it again.
