My Summer handbag beauty essentials

Woman's handbag is usually like a treasure chest with so many necessary, useful and the 'I don't know what is it doing here' items. And once you're a mummy there are even more unexpected things in your bag, from wipes, nappies to random toys. I swear, sometimes my handbag is so heavy like I would be going for a weekend away, and that's just quite normal occurrence on every day basis.
Anyway, today I wanted to show you what beauty products I'm always carrying in my handbag, no matter what, with some seasonal extras.

Summer handbag beauty essentials

Blotting powders, compact powder - as my skin is combination/oily I need to have something to reduce the shine during the day if I'm not at home, blotting powders are a life saver to gently remove excess oil without ruining my makeup, here I have some from a random brand that I got a while ago from Fragrance Direct, many brands do them and you really don't need to spend lots of money on them as they're basically a piece of paper with oil absorbing properties, a piece of tissue will do the job as well if blotting papers are not on hand.
Powder is another product I need to have in my bag to mattify further my skin if needed, or to touch up my nose which usually is the first place to show signs of my makeup wearing off. The powder I've been having for a year now, I think, it's the Maybelline  Fit Me which a lovely finely milled powder, the packaging contains mirror and a little sponge perfect for using it on the go.
Hand sanitizer, hand cream, nail file - I am a bit of freak when it comes to having clean hands so hand sanitizer is a must for me really, any would do, but I particularly like the Carex ones.
My hands get dry very quickly and make me feel uncomfortable so I can't be without a hand cream, you will find them in every room in my house and of course in my handbag. Dove Regenerating Nourishment is a lovely, deeply hydrating cream which sinks into the skin in seconds and doesn't leave any greasy residue.
Ever been out of the house when your nail chipped or broke? Yeah, then you know how important is to carry with you a nail file which will be a real life safer in situation like this :)
Perfume samples - I like to have in my handbag some small trial sizes of my favourite perfumes so I can refresh the scent throughout the day.
Dr PawPaw multipurpose balm

Lip balm - just as my hands, my lips get dry very quickly and a lip balm is a must for me. My latest favourite is the DrPawPaw Multipurpose Balm (*) which is not only fantastic to nourish my lips, leaving them super soft and smooth, but also is a great all rounder for any dry patches on my skin, sun burns, to tame my brows if they misbehave, to hydrate my cuticles if they're not looking their best. The balm contains fermented Pawpaw, the fruit of the plant Carica Papaya which has been found to have natural healing qualities. It's an amazing product that I will always carry in my handbag, it can be used in so many ways and it doesn't feel heavy or greasy which is what makes it perfect to use it on the go.
Lipstick - at any time you will find at least couple of different lipsticks in my handbag, there will, most certainly, be a nude shade like this Clinique Pop Lipstick in Nude Pop (review) which has been one of my favourites lately, some easy to apply lip crayon, like the New Cid in the shade Rose and a red lipstick/lip pencil (Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Pencil in Red Essential- review) in case I'm wearing a red shade on my lips and forgot to take with me the lipstick I used at home and we all know that red lips will most likely need a touch up.
Sun Cream - this is definitely a seasonal addition to my handbag, I love having this pocket size Nivea Sun Cream SPF30 in case I forgot to apply sun protection at home or I'm spending long time outside and I need to re-apply it at some point.
Thermal water spray - since discovering some time last year how amazingly refreshing and soothing thermal water sprays are I have been carrying them around in my bag, especially during Summer. My favourite is the La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water which is very cooling and soothing, perfect for hot days, to use on any sun burns or to re-fresh my makeup during the day. I've been using it on my boys as well because it's gentle enough. And the little 50ml can fits perfectly in my makeup bag.
So these are my handbag beauty essentials, what are yours? Let me know in the comments below :)

  4. Love this Dagmara! Your handbag contents look a lot like mine. I used to swear by the Maybelline Fit Me compact when I lived in the Middle East, it was great for sorting out my sweaty mess of a face on the go! I used to carry perfume samples until I got my Travalo and now that comes everywhere with me! I always find such strange crap in the depths of my bag though, it's amazing what we pick up during day to day life! xxx

  5. All essentials :) I need to carry around powder with me, I love the Soap and Glory's One Heck of a Blot :) I'm going to India soon so I think I need to take around some thermal spray with me too!

  6. Great post! I always make sure that I have a concealer, a mascara and a little perfume in my bag all year around. In the summer I also carries sunscreen!

  11. I am the worst beauty blogger ever for bringing any sort of makeup with me, most of the time if I am just going to the park with Ellie I will put my wallet, keys & always a lip balm in her Peppa Pig bag haha stylish or what. Need to get back into wearing a handbag more often I think x

  12. These look like the usual suspects that are in my bag as well. I always carry powder for touch ups but rarely use it. I'm so bad at touch-ups in general, lol.

  17. The Pop Lip colours are so easy and comfortable to wear, they're a must in a handbag :) x

  18. Mine always weighs too much, most of the time I use a stroller for my younger boy so I put my handbag there as it's actually too heavy to carry it on my arm, haha! x

  19. It's always cool looking at what other people carry around in their handbags, I know I certainly have a number of things that I carry around with me, some out of habit rather than actual need! xx

  20. It's true that sometimes we just keep carrying things that we think we might need when actually we never do :) x
