Zoeva has quickly become my favourite brand for great quality yet affordable makeup brushes and beautiful eyeshadow palettes. Since falling in love with pigmentation and formula of eyeshadows from the Love is A Story palette I started adding other palettes to my collection. And before you comment or ask, yes, I don't need them but I want them, all :)
The Zoeva palettes have beautiful packaging, even though card board, it's sturdy, sleek and elegant. All the palettes have different theme to them and I love the selection of shades and their names in every one of them. The formula of eyeshadows is amazing and is on par with high end ones. And on top of that Zoeva states that 'use by date' of their eyeshadows is 36 months since starting using the palette which is unusual, because most of my other palettes have the 12 months period, and even though I will most definitely keep them for longer, I feel better collecting the Zoeva palettes knowing that I can safely use them for the next few years.
When a few weeks ago Zoeva announced a new Cocoa Blend palette I knew straight away that I will have to have because it's just gorgeous. So on the day of its launch, yes, I'm that sad, I ordered it with a few more things to get to try other makeup from the brand.
Zoeva Cocoa Blend (£15.50) palette is inspired by a box of chocolates and just looks like one. It contains 10 shades varying from rich warm tones to cool ones, from matte to metallic. The quality is fantastic, all the shades have beautiful pigmentation, are silky soft and blend amazingly well. They don't even need a primer underneath as they last well on the eye lids but, of course to be sure they won't crease, especially with oily lids, is better to use one.
All the swatches below are done without a primer and made with one swirl of the finger in the pan, except the two first shades which are the lightest, so to show them better on camera I had to apply two layers. I love all the shades here but Pure Ganache stands out to me as it feels like pure pigment/foiled eyeshadow, the pigmentation and softness is incredible! Bitter Start, Beans Are White, Substitute For Love and Freshly Toasted are matte shades.
I also decided to get the Naturally Yours palette which is full of beautiful neutral shades, perfect to use on its own or in conjunction with any other, more fun, colourful palettes, like the Zoeva Retro Future. It has a very elegant, romantic vibe to it, starting with the packaging, finishing on the names of the shades.
Again, the quality of the eyeshadows is amazing, I would say that pigmentation is slightly less intense than in the Cocoa Blend palette, but still very good and the eyeshadows perform great on the eyes. Pure, Soft&Sexy, Slow Dance, First Love and Timeless Chic have matte finish. Smooth Harmony and Forever Yours are duo-chrome shades.
Together with eyeshadow palettes I ordered couple of other makeup items to see what's the quality like. To start with, everything has a lovely, sturdy packaging that makes you think that the products are much more expensive then they actually are.
Luxe Color Blush in He Loves Me Maybe (£6.95) it's a coral pink shade, very similar to the Sephora blush I've been obsessed with recently, I just love this kind of shades for Summer. The formula is fantastic, very smooth, silky soft, the pigmentation is great and it blends absolutely effortlessly on the skin. It doesn't last all day on me, I would say around 6 hours and then, ideally, I would like to touch it up. The packaging is plastic with secure closure and a mirror inside, it's very sturdy, it looks simple but elegant.
Luxe Cream Lipstick in Melting Kisses is again a coral shade which I adore for Summer but it leans more towards orange on the lips and can get very bright when applied too heavily. I like to blot it lightly to leave only a stain-like look as it's much more wearable that way. The formula is very creamy and pigmented, it feels comfortable on the lips, somewhat moisturising but it does accentuate dry skin so exfoliated and well moisturised lips is a must. The wear time is about 4 hours if only drinking in the meantime but it definitely needs re-applying after eating. The packaging is very modern, elegant with magnetic closure and it looks like a premium product, for only £7.50.
Pearl Eyeshadow Fix is an eyeshadow primer that comes in a squeezy tube and has a light golden tint to it. It helps all the shimmery shades look more vibrant but it also does a great job at prolonging wear time of any kind of eyeshadow. I think it's a fantastic primer and for £5.95 a total bargain. They also have a matte version but it wasn't available at the time of making my order.
Have you tried Zoeva makeup? I can't recommend their eyeshadow palettes enough but I'm also enjoying the blush and lipstick. I think they're amazing quality for the price!
