Makeup Revolution is a brand I really like for good quality and very affordable makeup so when I got the opportunity to test and review their latest eyeshadow palette 'Affirmation' I didn't hesitate a second as you know my obsession with eyeshadows :)
I have reviewed many other Makeup Revolution palettes (for example here, here, here) and the quality is always there so there is no surprise I like the Affirmation palette as well. This time I decided to quickly go through the review and swatches and show you the makeup look I created with this palette.
Affirmation palette has a sleek black plastic casing, characteristic for Makeup Revolution palettes and contains 32 eyeshadows in neutral colours, ranging from warm to cool tones. It's a beautiful selection of colours and you can create any makeup look with it, from simple one shade day eye look to smokey eyes. All the eyeshadows feel very soft to the touch, they blend beautifully and majority of them have good pigmentation but some of the lighter shades are not very impressive and needs a few layers to show up on the eyes. All of them need a primer underneath to help with the intensity of the colour. I would say, that, surprisingly, I like the matte and satin shades in this palette more then the shimmery ones which are a bit more stiff and need more work to get a nice opaque finish on the eyes. This is a bit strange as many of older Makeup Revolution palettes have the shimmery shades amazing quality with some of them nearly foil-like. Nevertheless this is still a very good palette and a real bargain for £8!
All the swatches are done without a primer, my favourite shades are in 2nd and 3rd row, Accept and Time have been my 'go to' shades for the past few days and Oath and Rely are the most gorgeous taupe colours!
For my makeup look I chose Advance, Blaze, Time, Promise, Vouch and Affirmation to create a fun, but very wearable eye look, perfect for any eye colour.
To create a liner using an eyeshadow you need to dampen the liner brush with fixing spray or water but be careful not to make the brush too wet as it will not create a desired effect and on top of that the eyeshadow might get damaged.
Face
Primer: L'Oreal Revitalift Magic Blur
Foundation: Nars All Day Luminous in Deauville
Corrector: Pixi Correcting Concealer
Highlighting Concealer: L'Oreal Lumi Magique in Light
Bronzer/Contour: BarryM Chisel Cheeks Kit
Blush: Sephora blush in Romantic Rose
Highlighter: Makeup Revolution, I Heart Makeup Baked Blusher in Peachy Pink Kisses
Lips
Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in Love Me
And this is the finished look :)
What do you think of this makeup look? I think it's a great way to incorporate some brighter shades into the eye makeup. The coloured liner would look even better on eyes that can support a bigger winged liner as opposed to my deep set eyes which limit the way I can create cat eye liner.
Do you like the look of the new Makeup Revolution palette? If you have it what was your experience with it? Let me know in the comments below.

The pop of blue liner against the coppery lid makes such a striking contrast, beautiful look! I was wondering whether to purchase this palette when I saw it's release but decided to check a few reviews first to get a good feel for the shades. So thanks, your swatches were really helpful! I most probably will end up getting it now - even if it's just to recreate your look!

I absolutely love Makeup Revolution products. They're great at producing dupes for high end products, that are sometimes ridiculously priced! Love your post! xx
