When visiting my family in Poland last month I was pleasantly surprised to see Sephora shop in my city and, of course, I had to take the opportunity to get some bits for myself, (see my haul). As I wasn't really expecting to visit that shop I didn't know at first what to get, but then I decided to try some Sephora product which are not available in UK.
The only thing that I remembered reading lots of good reviews about was the Cream Lip Stain, so I picked one for myself and then saw some new Rouge Infusion Lip Stains and one shade landed in my shopping basket.
Both of these lip stains come in a plastic packaging with a doe foot applicator. The Cream Lip Stain has transparent tube which makes it easier to see what shade it is and the Rouge Infusion Lip Stain has the packaging all black with a little swatch colour in the lid. Both lipsticks have a scent to them with the Cream Lip Stain being slightly vanilla and the Rouge Infusion more on a fruity side.
Sephora Cream Lip Stain in the shade 13 Marvelous Mauve, beautiful deep mauve pink, I adore the shade and the formula of this lipstick. It's very pigmented and it gives high, opaque coverage in one swipe. It applies like a cream lipstick and dries up to a matte finish. It lasts absolutely ages on my lips, even with having a drink or a bite but it's still easy to remove with my micellar water. It doesn't dry up my lips and feels very comfortable on. After 4, 5 hours of wearing it might start to look a bit dry so reapplying a thin layer on top makes things look very pretty once again. I'm really impressed by this liquid lipstick and I wish I picked at least one more shade!
Sephora Rouge Infusion Lip Stain in the shade 17 Petal, gorgeous nude soft pink, it claims to be "zero-texture lip stain with buildable coverage" and I agree that it feels very lightweight on my lips, quite hydrating, it's not sticky and it has slightly glossy finish. The shade I chose is the kind of 'my lips but better' colour and with one coat on is not even visible so I tend to build it up. I noticed that is better for one layer to get dry before applying another, otherwise the lipstick goes patchy and uneven. When the lipstick dries it sinks in to my skin and it really feels like nothing on but the more layer I put on, the more it starts to sit in the lines of my lips looking not very attractive. Also, it is not even half as long lasting as the Cream Lip Stain and it doesn't stain my lips, but I think it's more to do with the colour than the overall formula because I remember swatching in store other bolder shades and they stained the skin on my hand after being on only a few minutes.
Overall, from the two Sephora Lip Stains I highly recommend the Cream Lip Stain, they're really fantastic and if you fancy picking up the Rouge Infusion I'd say go for darker shades as the one I have is a bit disappointing.
Have you tried any of these Sephora Lip Stains? What was your experience with them?

I've heard amazing things about the Cream Lip Stains. I really wish it was easier to get hold of Sephora own brand products in the UK - I hate ordering online. x

I know, I do order things online but it's much better to see the product before parting with the money :) x
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome :) It's a beautiful shade! x
ReplyDeleteI love it and I think it would suit your complexion as well :) x
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my post today, hun! It was so interesting to read your perspective on these. You know, your review reminded me that I'd heard that the darker shades in the Sephora Rouge Infusions perform much better than the lighter ones. I was suppose to mention that but completely forgot. Anyway, sorry Petal didn't work out for you. I know now to stay clear of it as I do plan to pick up at least one of the full sizes at some point. :-) x

I haven't tried these but the mauve one looks lovely, especially for spring. Too bad the infusion was not as good as the stain. Have you tried it on top of a lipstick? When a product doesn't work, I tend to experiment haha. x
