Zoeva is a brand that I discovered only last year thanks to the blogging world and have fallen in love with their brushes, not only they look beautiful but also are great quality and not very expensive. While browsing Zoeva's website some time ago I realised they have also some makeup and their eyeshadow palettes went straight on to my wish list, yeah, I know, I'm obsessed :)
Recently many bloggers have reviewed their latest Rose Golden palette, it looks absolutely gorgeous and I thought this will be my first Zoeva makeup item. But then I decided that while this palette is beautiful, there isn't much variety within the shades and as I love experimenting with different looks and colours I picked up the Love Is A Story palette which has some neutrals but also some bright colours.
On the Zoeva website you can read:
"This palette is a key piece for the dressing table of a lady. Inspired by the makeup of the early ‘60s and movie stars. Femininity with power."
The packaging is a sleek purple casing with a magnetic closure and even though it's a cardboard it feels sturdy. The design is very pretty with all the metallic writing on top of the palette and inside. The palette comes with a protective sleeve that secures the palette from accidental opening and damage. There is no mirror inside but I'm not bothered with that because, let's be honest, how often we actually use those palette mirrors if we're doing our makeup at home? Yup, never :)
The palette contains 10 eyeshadows , each 1.5g which is a good amount of product comparing to other palettes I have. There are 4 matte shades and 6 with shimmery, metallic finishes. They're produced without Parabens, mineral oil, Phtalates, fragrances and are infused with Vitamin E which basically made them more skin friendly. The eyeshadows have cute names printed underneath them.
Film Star - matte pale beige
Affair - iridescent pale peachy pink
Past Romance - lilac pink with golden flecks of micro glitter, unfortunately they don't translate very well on the lid while using brush so I prefer to use my finger with this shade if I want the glitter to show up on the skin
Man with a Plan - shimmery dark brown with burgundy undertones
Ladylike - matte turquoise blue
Over You - matte medium brown
Little Kiss - shimmery gold
Old fashioned - metallic purple
Flirt - matte grey with deep green undertones
Mystery Date - lightly metallic deep blackened blue, this shade is gorgeous when packed on the lid but I found it gets a little bit patchy when trying to blend it in to the crease
I'm really loving this Zoeva palette, the quality of eyeshadows is amazing, they're silky soft, very pigmented and easy to work with. I'd say that this palette is right there on par with my Urban Decay or Too Faced palettes. No surprise really that now I've tried one I want all the palettes Zoeva have released. They're £15 each on Zoeva website or £15.95 on BeautyBay website which make them really affordable considering how great quality they are.
The eyeshadows lasts absolutely all day on my lids with a primer underneath and up to 8 hours without primer, before they start to crease slightly.
I love how you can create so many different looks using just this one palette, from everyday neutral through colourful party look, to dark smokey eyes. If you're interested in what I came up with using Love is a Story palette stay tuned for my Friday makeup look :)
Have you tried Zoeva makeup? What do you think of this palette?

Wow that is a great price. I was reading your post thinking 'they look lovely but I bet it was expensive' but for that price I have a feeling it might be making it's way to me soon. Can't wait for Fridays post.

Oooo, that does look like a gorgeous palette, Dagmara! I should really try to use more colour eyeshadows but I am too scared of it. Actually anything with more than two eyeshadows make me want to cry and sweat profusely. LOL!

I love man with a plan and ladylike. What a lovely palette! I've been lusting after the mixed metals palette for a while :) x
ReplyDeleteI really like the gold, the purple and the grey-green shades, but I don't think I'd get much use out of the bright pink and the turquoise because I'm never adventurous enough with my makeup and unsure if these shades suit my colouring. But all the same what a well presented palette and great review to read through from you. :)

Looks like a great palette with lovely shades and amazing pigment so now I am definitely tempted to get myself one even though I should be put on an eyeshadow palette ban, as I have got so many as it is. I was looking at the Mixed Metals one though for something different to what I already own x

Such a gorgeous palette! A few of the matte neutral colours look like dupes for some of the Makeup Geek eyeshadows. I love that it's a cardboard palette I much prefer that style.
