What have I learnt during the first year of blogging?

The last week of February marks the first anniversary of creating Mummy's Beauty Corner so happy blogiversary to me! :)
At this time last year with shaky hands and feeling all nervous I pressed the 'publish' button for the first time and never looked back. Since I got into reading lots of beauty blogs in 2013 I had wanted to start mine own, so after lots of thinking I finally gave in and created Mummy's Beauty Corner.
Being 'stay at home' mum my life has become very much focused on my children and house so deciding to do something for myself and dedicating the time to do so was and still is a big deal and something I thoroughly enjoy. Blogging has become my greatest hobby and a place where I can forget for a minute about being a mum and a wife and be just the girl with an unhealthy obsession for beauty products :)
So what the blogging has taught me during the first year of my journey?
If you thought you will find in this post tips and tricks I'm afraid I have to disappoint you, I'm the last person to give anyone an advice on blogging because I'm still learning myself lots of things every day. This post is more about my personal journey.

* So firstly, I have learnt that makeup is my biggest passion and even though I've always loved it now I can clearly see how much I enjoy it and would love to be able to make it my source of income.
I have a degree in chemistry and I used to be a chemistry teacher which I enjoyed but I wasn't passionate about it and now when the boys are getting bigger and the time when I need to start working again is approaching I've been thinking a lot what I want to do, in which direction to go and I think I have the answer, thanks to blogging which pushed me to experiment more with makeup and made me realised that I always wanted to work in the beauty industry :) Even studying chemistry I was thinking of getting myself a job in a laboratory of a cosmetic brand which unfortunately didn't happen.
* Second, I've learnt that there are some awesome girls/young woman within the blogging community as obsessed with beauty products as I am and it's nothing wrong with it. In fact it feels absolutely normal to share the love for a nude lipstick which is that bit different than the other 20 in my makeup drawer :)
* Third, talking about the community, I've learnt that you can make friends, 'click' with someone even without meeting them or having a proper conversation, just because you get each other through blogging.
*Fourth, I've also learnt that there are so many awesome brands that I haven't had the chance to try their products which leads me to
*Fifth, beauty blogging can get veeery expensive, trying to catch up on the latest releases, getting into hype of holy grail products and buying lots 'for the blog'. I'm not that girl anymore who would patiently finished her foundation before buying a new one, now I have 10 different ones sitting on my dressing table and I still can't resist buying more to try the different formulas, finishes and all that jazz :)
*Sixth, blogging is very time consuming, from planning the posts, taking photos, editing, writing and promoting the blog it can take easily between 2-4 hours a day for me and I only blog 3-4 times a week. But because it's my hobby and I really enjoy it I rather spend my free evenings doing that than watching tv :)
*Seventh, of course I've learnt how to set up the blog and very basics of html, I've started using twitter and Instagram which I'm getting obsessed with. Haven't tried the 'oh so popular' Pinterest and I'm already scared of the day I figure out how does it work, haha!

And to finish this rather lengthy post I'd like to thank all of you who have been reading and supporting me and my blog, I'm grateful for every person who followed Mummy's Beauty Corner and comments here or on my other social medias because you motivate me to work on my blog and make it all so much more special.

What have you learnt in your blogging time? Would love if you could share with me your experience!
PS. Stay tuned for a one year blogiversary giveaway which I will tell you all about tomorrow :)
