Hello!
If you follow me on Instagram you might have noticed that I got the much desirable Jaclyn Hill Favourites palette by Morphe Brushes, it cost me long hours spent trying to order it on the day of the pre-order and then extra ££ for the custom charges but it's in my hands and I'm very happy with it. The quality of the eye shadows is incredible, they're insanely pigmented, most of them are buttery smooth and I mean BUTTERY, and even those few which are a bit chalky they're still perform amazing on the eyes. The whole palette consists of 28 warm toned shades ranging from matte to shimmery, from neutrals to fun colours. These are the colours that Jaclyn Hill loves the most from the Morphe Brushes' single eye shadows collection. I'm pretty sure that you all know who Jaclyn is and if not you must certainly check her Youtube channel out :) I absolutely adore her, she's a talented makeup artist, gorgeous young woman with such a fun and genuine personality that makes me want to become her BFF :) So when I found out about the palette I knew I have to have it, no matter what. And here I am, playing with Jaclyn Hill Favourites palette.
Anyway, digression aside, today's makeup look was created using the JHF palette and was inspired by the Valentine's Day which is just around the corner. I decided to create a romantic, girly pink makeup look, because if you can't bring yourself to wear pink on Valentine's Day then when? And because I was desperate to use this gorgeous fuchsia shade from the palette :)
The eye shadows from the palette don't have names so I numbered the ones I used in this makeup look.
#1- off white with frost finish
#2- warm soft brown with satin finish
#3- soft baby pink with pearl finish
#4- reddish dark brown with - matte
#5- vibrant fuchsia - matte
#6- deep maroon red - matte
Here's a quick pictorial of how I used the eye shadows.
1 - blended shade #2 in to the crease and above it with a fluffy blending brush.
2 - with a tapered blending brush I applied shade #5 in to the crease and in the outer corner of the eye.
3 - using smaller blending brush I applied shade #6 in the outer third of the lid bringing it slightly into outer part of the crease.
4 - applied Color Tattoo in Pink Gold on the empty space of the lid and then added shade #3 on top of it.
5 - with a pencil brush I darkened the outer corner of my lid with shade #4 winging it lightly outside.
6 - I lined my lashes with a black eye liner (Oriflame The One Eye Liner Stylo) creating a small wing, you can go even more dramatic with the liner but my eye shape doesn't suit too much of a wing.
7 - I lined my lower lashline and waterline with black pencil (Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal) which then I smudged it using a pencil brush and the fuchsia shade #5.
8 - I applied shade #1 lightly under my brows and more heavily in the inner corners.
9 - I coated my lashes with mascara (Benefit Roller Lash) and added false lashes (Red Cherry #WSP) for that romantic look.
I filled in my brows using Rimmel Brow Pencil in Hazel and set it with L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper in Medium Brown.
For my base I used:
Primer - Rimmel Fix&Perfect, I've been shopping my stash of primers to decide which ones I should keep and which ones are going to the bin and this is actually quite nice, post about my primers will come soon.
Foundation - Seventeen Stay Time in Natural.
Concealers - Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin in 02Light to hide the under eye dark circles and L'Oreal Lumi Magique in Light for highlighting.
Powder - to set my concealer and foundation I used the L'Oreal BB powder in Light.
Blush - Milani baked blush in Bella Rosa (review).
Highlighter - Makeup Revolution Radiant Light powder in Breathe.
For my lips I used the Milani lipstick in Plumrose which is a beautiful deep pink shade and the formula is moisturising enough not to dry out my already dry lips and lasts for good 3 hours without the need of reapplying it.
And that's the finished look :)
What do you think of this makeup look? Is it something you'd wear or is it too pink for you? What makeup will you wear for your V-Day date?

It was my first ever overseas purchase and I had to pay custom charges :( Don't think I will be ordering too often from US but this palette was so worth it, it's really amazing! Just like Jaclyn ;) x
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I wish I was able to purchase that palette! :((

I'm so glad I got that palette, the quality is amazing! I've heard they're bringing it back :) x
ReplyDeleteYes! It was supposed to be early feb, but they put it off or something. I don't know. I do wonder if it is worth me purchasing it since I already own 20 + shadows from morphe, and half of them are in the palette itself. Probably shouldn't. It is super cheap either way.
ReplyDeleteIf you have already some of their eye shadows you probably don't need the palette :) I might actually purchase more, I was so impressed with them!
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful, not sure that I would wear pink but then I will give any colour a go once. Love the lip colour too, really must get my hands on some of them :)
