Hello!
As a makeup lover and eye shadow junkie who wears them nearly every single day my collection of eye makeup brushes has been growing steadily over the past year or so but I've noticed that no matter how many different brushes I own I seem to reach for the same ones every time I do my makeup. I don't own high end brushes, but I do have a wide range of more budget friendly ones, like Zoeva, Ecotools, e.l.f., Real Techinques which do their job just good enough.
Today I want to share with you eye makeup brushes that I use the most and which, in my opinion, are really great.
Zoeva brushes have been one of my favourite 2014 discoveries, I love the way they look, perform and how affordable they are, so no wonder they're taking over my collection.
1 - Zoeva #232/Classic Shader - fantastic brush to pack the eye shadow all over the lid, the bristles are soft but firm enough to do an excellent work.
2 - Zoeva #320/Smokey Liner - great brush to smoke your eyeliner but I've been using it mostly to apply an eye shadow along my lower lash line, it's just perfect for that as it doesn't create a harsh line but smokes/blends the eye shadow beautifully and it's small enough for that area.
3 - Zoeva #238/Precise Shader - this tiny shading brush is my 'go to' for an inner eye corner highlight, it's the perfect size so you can place the eye shadow precisely in that area.
4 - Zoeva #231/Luxe Petit Crease - for someone with small eyes like myself this is a fantastic brush to darken the outer part of the lid and define the crease, it applies and blends the eye shadow effortlessly.
5 - Zoeva #224/Luxe Defined Crease - again a perfect brush for those of us with smaller eyes, this makes the blending process a breeze, it's not too big to make a mess on your entire lid but still fluffy enough to create a beautiful diffused look.
6 - ebay 217 brush/dupe for MAC 217 blending brush - I bought this ages ago and even though it was super cheap is still in a great condition, this brush is a bit too big for my eye shape to do any precise work but it's perfect to blend out all the edges when finishing the eye look.
7, 8 - Ecotools Dual Ended eye makeup brush - this is my everyday multitasking brush, the fluffy end is perfect to apply an eye shadow to my eye lids and blend it nicely into the crease while the other end with smudger type of brush is ideal to apply the eye shadow on my lower lid or/and smudge the eye liner. It's a 'does it all' brush, an essential for an everyday makeup when the time to do it is limited. The quality of this brush is also excellent.
9 - last but not least is my favourite brush to set with powder my under eye concealer - e.l.f. Blush Brush, it's a small tapered brush that fits in the under eye area perfectly, making the application quick and easy. Even though it's a blush brush I don't think I've ever actually used it for that purpose :)
So that is the roundup of my favourite eye makeup brushes, all of them are very affordable but still great quality. As you could see, most of them are by Zoeva and I can't recommend them enough.
Which are your favourite brushes?

Ecotools are really great, I'm sure you'll enjoy using their brushes! x
DeleteI'm like you in that I have mostly affordable brushes. I love real techiques and eco tools (made by the same company) but I haven't tried Zoeva yet because of the shipping cost. I have 2x MAC 217 and its so scratchy and doesn't blend that well. Have you tried sigma brushes? I love them! Worth the money :) x
ReplyDeleteI've only bought the highly hyped Sigma F80 but haven't tried any of their eye brushes. I think they too expensive here in UK. You can buy Zoeva brushes from BeautyBay :)
DeleteThose Zoeva brushes look gorgeous. I have a tonne of them of my wishlist and definitely want to treat myself to the complete eye set, I think they would be super useful to use and hopefully give me more choice than my current make-up brushes! :)

You need to try Zoeva, they are really great! x
DeleteI am so glad I found this post of yours, Dagmara! My knowledge about the brushes starts and ends with kabuki brush and all those essential brushes that come in the same container with eyeshadows/blushes. It was great to read your post, and I definitely need to go ahead and purchase some decent brushes:)
