Hello!
Makeup Revolution has become my favourite budget brand when it comes to eye shadow palettes, their quality is really good, especially for the price. On top of that they release new palettes every couple of months and the eye shadow palette - addict in me can satisfy the growing appetite for new palettes without ruining my bank account balance :)
Today I am reviewing one of the latest eye shadow palettes from Makeup Revolution called 'Girl Panic' (£6) which is named after the Duran Duran song, I believe :)
The palette comes in a very girly, hot pink box that somehow reflects the pink tones of the eye shadows. The palette itself is, as usual, made of black plastic case, sleek and sturdy. Inside there is a large mirror and double ended sponge applicator. There are 18 eye shadows, 12 shimmery and 6 matte. The names of the eye shadows are printed on the plastic sheet, and are taken from the Girl Panic's lyrics, which is a funny feature and it seems like it runs through many Makeup Revolution products' names :)
As you can see the shades from this palette are definitely on the pink side but there are many neutrals to complement the pink shades. The formula of these eye shadows is fantastic for the price, they are soft but not powdery, well pigmented, even the matte shades and they blend beautifully. They last on my eyes, without creasing or fading, around 10 hours, applied over a primer which normally is my usual concealer, nothing fancy :) I did have a bit of fall out when applying the eye shadows to my lids but I'm yet to experience eye shadows with no fall out at all, so for the price I'm not complaining, I just do my eye makeup before applying foundation if I want to do some heavier eye makeup. I am very impressed with the matte shades, they are super soft, nicely pigmented and just a pleasure to work with.
Let's see the swatches of these lovely eye shadows :)
First row, shimmery.
My favourite in this row is Panic On the Street - beautiful champagne highlight shade, with satin-like finish, I Am Beaten - gorgeous coppery pink and City Trap - deep chocolate brown with golden shimmery flecks.
Second row, shimmery.
In this row I like all the shades equally, they have either metallic or satin finish, nothing glittery, and Demolition looks nearly matte when applied to the lid.
Third row, matte.
Going Under is perfect for a subtle highlighting the brow bone, I've been using it every time I do my makeup with this palette, my other favourites are Hypnotic - taupe shade and Clever Words - grey with purple undertones. I needed to build them up for the intensity in the photo but they perform really well on the lids and are just gorgeous crease/ all over the lid shades.
In overall I like this palette a lot, the quality is great, just as you expect from Makeup Revolution, the shades are beautiful and very versatile. You can do simple, neutral makeup or smokey eyes, the options are there. I love how affordable the Makeup Revolution palettes are so I can totally justify buying new ones, even if I don't really need them :)
Have you tried Makeup Revolution eye shadows? Are you fan of them?
