New skincare products in my routine: Omorovicza Acid Fix and Urban Veda moisturisers

As a beauty blogger and skincare enthusiast I am always trialling new products but I try not to introduce too many at once otherwise my skin might freak out and also I wouldn't really know what is working and what's not. I take my time to test new products hence I have a drawer full of skincare waiting for their turn, if only I had more then one face, haha! I am truly making effort to finish off products that have been opened for a while and my skin love them but every month I sneak in a few new ones to test and today I want to share with you my thoughts on the three products I've added to my skincare routine in the last  month.

Omorovicza Acid Fix and Urban Veda moisturisers

Omorovicza Acid Fix

If you read my review of Dr Dennis Gross Glow Getter set (which is currently available on Space NK!) you know I was very impressed with how well these products worked for my skin so once the exfoliating pads were finished I've decided to start using my Omorovicza Acid Fix as my main exfoliating treatment and hoped it would maintain my smooth skin.

Just like all Omorovicza products the Acid Fix looks all luxurious and high end in its frosted glass bottle with pipette applicator. The consistency is of a runny gel/serum and it quickly absorbs into the skin. It has very faint scent that dissipates quickly.

"A multi-purpose treatment, Acid Fix exfoliates, peels, resurfaces, brightens and plumps the skin. Combining a potent blend of AHA and BHA acids, it helps to reverse the damage caused by sunlight, pollution and acne for a glowing and more youthful complexion."

As the name suggests the Acid Fix is a concoction of different acids to solve all your skin's worries.
Glycolic and Lactic Acids (AHAs) gently yet effectively exfoliate the surface of the skin to remove dead, dull skin cells and reveal glowing, smoother complexion. Salicylic Acid (BHA) works on deeper levels of the skin to help unclog the pores resulting in clearer, less congested skin. Australian Caviar Lime Extract, rich in AHA, encourages exfoliation and helps to perfect the skin's appearance.
Glycerin and Sodium Hyaluronate deliver hydration to the skin and keep it moist and plumped.
As well as patented Omorovicza Healing Concentrate which deliver all the minerals, occurring naturally in Hungarian Thermal Waters, deep into the skin for healthy, smooth, glowing complexion.

I've been using the Acid Fix for a month now, every other night as instructed, and I am happy to report that my skin has remained smooth and blemish free, (apart from those few hormonal beasts around that time of the month which are scared of nothing, LOL!). I don't experience any irritation when using the Acid Fix, only very slight tingling sensation upon the application. I stayed away from any other chemical exfoliation during the last few weeks as I wanted to give the product a fair trial and also didn't want to over-exfoliate my skin. I usually apply it after thoroughly cleansing my face and let it works its magic for at least half an hour before following with my night time moisturiser or facial oil. Because of the hydrating ingredients I don't experience any dryness while using the Acid Fix, on a few occasions I didn't apply anything over it and I still woke up to glowing, hydrated skin.

It's fair to say that if you want smoother, brighter and more radiant skin you won't be disappointed with Acid Fix. It's gentle yet effective, it gives you results of a professional acid peels but at the comfort of your home.
Obviously it's an expensive product but you only need half of  a dropper at a time so it's easy to see that the bottle will last a minimum of 3 months of continuous use.

Now let's step away from the luxurious and expensive products to much more affordable offerings from Urban Veda.
I have come across Urban Veda products in the past but didn't try much from their range so I was excited to get their two moisturisers. I am wary of Shea Butter in my skincare products, which is quite commonly used especially in moisturisers because of its hydrating and nourishing properties, as for some reason it tends to break me out but thankfully neither of these from Urban Veda contains it so I've given them a good go.

"Every day we go into battle with environmental factors such as excessive central heating or air conditioning, exhaust fumes, dust, dirt and stress which negatively affect the health of our skin. Our lifestyles are often mirrored in our complexion. The Urban Veda range has been formulated using natural ingredients and the principles of Ayurveda in a relevant way for 21st century skin care complaints to ‘pollution proof’ skin leaving it less vulnerable to the environment.
We believe the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda fits seamlessly into a modern 21st century lifestyle. But unlike so many things in the modern world, Ayurveda doesn’t believe just in the quick fix. Naturally formulated using Ayurvedic herbs, flowers and fruits, combined with multi-vitamins and clinically proven actives, urbanveda helps to maintain skin’s natural balance by infusing it with Omega-rich bio-oils, free radical-fighting antioxidants and vitality-boosting essential fatty acids."

This beautiful moisturiser from the Rose + Botanics range has been my favourite out of the two. It contains lots of hydrating and nourishing ingredients like Rosehip Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Rose Damask Flower Oil, Evening Primrose Seed Extract making it rich in all the goodness for the skin yet it's surprisingly fast-absorbing and it doesn't feel heavy on the skin at all. I have combination skin and this moisturiser doesn't make my skin greasy during the day, in fact it balances it out perfectly and helps to keep it hydrated all day but not oily.
It has quite a strong rose scent which I don't mind but it's worth mentioning it for those of you who do.
This moisturiser makes my skin instantly smooth and soft and it works very well under makeup.

Ingredients:
Aqua (Water), Isopropyl Myristate, Glycerin (vegetable origin), Alcohol Denat., Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (derived from Coconut oil), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, PEG-100 Stearate, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate (Liquorice root extract), Terminalia Arjuna (Arjuna) Bark Extract, Pogostemon Cablin (Patchouli) Oil, Coriandrum Sativum (Coriander) Leaf Oil, Cedrus Atlantica (Atlas Cedar) Bark Oil, Tagetes Minuta (Marigold) Flower Oil, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Lycium Chinense (Goji berry) Fruit Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Parfum, Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Polyacrylate, Disodium EDTA, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tetrapeptide-30, 2-Bromo-2-Nitropropane-1,3-Diol, Citral, Citronellol, Coumarin, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl methylpropional, Limonene, Linalool, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde, Alpha-isomethyl ionone

This night time moisturiser from the Turmeric + Botanics range is brimming with hydrating and nourishing ingredients but it's specifically formulated to tackle hyperpigmentation and balance skin tone thanks to Turmeric and Liquorice Root Extracts and Papaya and Goji Berry Fruit Extracts. It helps to revitalise dull skin making it brighter and more luminous while keeping it hydrated and nourished.
Although it's richer then the day cream I've been trialling it's not heavy and it sinks into the skin within seconds. Every time I use it at night I wake up to nicely hydrated and healthy looking skin without being greasy as some products do make my skin looking particularly oily in the morning.

But one thing that stops me from using this cream on regular basis it's how heavily scented it is. I understand that all those botanical extracts add to the fragrance of the product but it literally feels as if I would apply a perfume to my face. The cream doesn't irritate my skin in the slightest but I just don't like the smell of it which lingers for a long time after applying it. It's not a bad smell, just not my cup of tea and I'd rather don't have such a strong scent in my face cream. But it's just a personal preference.
As for the actual moisturiser's benefits I've not used it long enough to see how effective it is but the ingredients list does look very promising, so if you don't mind heavily scented facial skincare and want some help with dry, dull, lack-lustre skin then this range might be the one worth trying.

Have you tried any of these products?
Do you make an effort to finish off a product before opening a new one or, like me, you have a bathroom shelf full of skincare 'on the go'?
