PIXI Rose Skin and Lip Treats

Welcome back guys! Hope you all had fabulous festive time and a good start to New Year!
It's been three weeks since my last post and to be honest I haven't missed blogging, the festive time was very busy for me with work, having family over and, right after New Year, my hubby's and older son's birthdays, so it was nice not having to think about photos, writing, etc.
Also I feel like I'm in limbo, like I'm burnt out with blogging, I mentioned in my previous post that even though the numbers are not everything and I am grateful for everyone of you who visits my blog regularly and supports me, it feels disheartening that my blog and social media (Instagram I'm looking at you) are not growing like I wish they would. I know I haven't been blogging as regularly as I used to before getting a job last May but life is life and sometimes hobby needs to take a step back.
I see many beauty bloggers spicing up their content with lifestyle posts, fashion photos but I'm not that gal, I'm here just to talk about my favourite lipstick or great skincare products. I'm not the one to write deep, meaningful posts, never enjoyed writing essays, LOL! I don't go to fancy places, I don't have time and budget to hire photographers for outfit styling sessions. And on those few occasions that I do wear something different then a pair of jeans and a top or I visit Instagram-worthy locations I just focus on my family and friends and the time we're having together.
I don't know where I'm going with this monologue, I guess I'm just trying to let you know how I'm feeling at the moment about my blogging.
I definitely don't want to quit it as I have put too much time, effort and love in this little space of mine to just leave it now but I won't be forcing myself to writing posts just for the sake of having a schedule as it just stresses me out and I want to enjoy blogging again as much as I used to. I hope to be able to publish two posts a week but if one week I don't feel like doing it or there's no inspiration/motivation then let's be it.
Pixi PR package, rose skin and lip treats
I was initially planning to share with you my 2017 beauty favourites as my first 2018 post but I couldn't bring myself to creating that post so instead I am talking today about the dreamiest PR package I was kindly sent by Pixi by Petra just before Christmas. And if you are curious about my most favourites products I discovered last year follow me on Instagram as I'm sharing them on there.

So back to Pixi and their new products on offer, how pretty is the box the treats arrived in? I will certainly keep it forever. It opens to reveal a short cute story from Petra (the brand's founder) on Rose and its skincare benefits and underneath all the beautiful Rose treats for skin and lips.
Unfortunately the whole set is not available for purchase but all the products are so keep on reading to find out what I think about them.

Rose Caviar Essence*, 45ml, £26

Water/Aqua/Eau, Glycerin, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Peel Oil, Cananga Odorata Flower Oil, Cymbopogon Martini Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinenesis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Morus Alba Bark Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Caulerpa Lentillifera Extract, Bixa Orellana Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Adenosine, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Carbomer, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Tromethamine, Chlorphenesin,1,2-Hexanediol, Iron Oxide (CI 77491).

The super pretty looking serum/essence has a very lightweight, slightly gel-like consistency which becomes watery in contact with skin and melts right into it leaving it instantly hydrated and plumper. It smells lightly of roses but nothing too strong so even those of you who don't like rosy scents shouldn't be put off by it.
The intriguing 'rose caviar' beads are full of antioxidants thanks to encapsulated oils of macadamia seed, bergamot peel, sunflower seed, jojoba seed, grape seed, olive fruit and aloe barbadensis leaf oil, all of which work together to soften, refine and tone skin.
I've been using this essence for the last three weeks, morning and evening, after cleansing and toning my skin and I love how it adds hydration to my skin helping to keep the dreaded Winter dehydration at bay.

Pixi Rose Flash Balm, Pixi Rose Caviar Essence

Rose Flash Balm*, 40ml, £26

Water/Aqua/Eau, Rosa Centifolia Flower Water, Propylene Glycol, Octyldodecanol, Tapioca Starch, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Stearate, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Triethyl Citrate, Aminomethyl Propanol, Sucrose Cocoate, Glycerin, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Rose Extract, Bisabolol, Ethylhexylglyercin, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Citrate, Red 40 (CI 16035).

This is an oil-free 3-in-1 product that can be used as moisturiser, makeup primer or hydrating face mask. Enriched with rosa centifolia flower water and rose, olive leaf and witch hazel extracts, this multitasking balm is perfect for this time of year when our skin usually needs extra hydration, nourishment and protection.
I've been using it for the last two weeks most days as my morning moisturiser/primer and it's been working really well for my combination, mature skin. It creates the perfect base for foundation, it smooths out the skin, leaves it looking very subtly luminous, doesn't feel heavy or greasy and it keeps my skin comfortably hydrated all day.
I am at this awkward stage in life when my skin is not as oily as it used to be, feels slightly tight/dry but it still gets shiny during the day and it doesn't like richer creams created for dry skin.
So it's hard for me to find a day moisturiser that would cater perfectly to my fussy skin and the Pixi offering does the job really well.
I think most skin types would benefit from the Rose Flash Balm and especially those with dry or/and dehydrated skin should enjoy as a makeup primer. My only 'advice' would be to apply a thin layer as a moisturiser/primer as it can start balling up when applying foundation if it's too thick.
MatteLast Liquid Lip*, £16 each

Lastly I want to talk about these new liquid lipsticks which have quickly become one of my favourite ones because of how long lasting they are with comfortable feel on the lips. They're infused with Rosehip Seed Oil which make them less drying then other liquid lipsticks. There are 5 shades available at the moment, all very wearable but my favourite has to be Really Rose and Pastel Petal as they're just my everyday kind of shades.
The formula is quite runny so fairly easy to apply to the lips and it takes a few minutes to set to matte finish. The doe foot applicator has a nice shape with precise end to help with outlining the lips. One thing I noticed is that the amount of product that comes with the applicator is a bit too much and the formula works best when it's applied in a thin layer. They're very pigmented so you don't really need a lot to fully cover the lips. Once set these lipsticks stay put for hours, even with some eating and drinking in the meantime, they transfer very lightly and I haven't noticed them bleeding but I do always use lip liners as my lips just need that extra help to look more even and defined (that's the joy of getting old here, LOL!). After a full meal the lipstick wears off a bit so ideally it would be re-applied which is easy to do, I usually just dab a tiny bit in the middle of my lips and spread it lightly with a lip brush or my finger, to avoid creating a thick layer.
I find the deeper shades looking very smooth and flattering on my lips, even though they're quite dry at the moment but the lighter shades accentuate the lines slightly but that might be just me and my not so young lips, haha!
Overall I am loving these liquid lipsticks, one of the most comfortable and long lasting ones I've tried and I did try many.
Have you tried any of these Pixi products? Have any of these sparked your interest?
