Party makeup look with Bourjois

Few weeks ago I received a lovely box from Influenster filled with Bourjois goodies perfect to create a festive makeup look with. If you're a blogger/vlogger and haven't sign up for the Influenster program you definitely should as you can be picked for one of their many beauty campaigns meaning you receive some products in return of a review/social media coverage.
It was my second VoxBox since Influenster launched in UK last Summer and definitely one I was very excited about. I love many Bourjois products, some of them have been with me for years so it was my pleasure to re-discover old favourites and discover some new launches.
Before I share with you my makeup look created with all these products I'd like to let you know a little about their formula and performance if you're interested in getting any of them.

Healthy Mix Foundation, shade 53 Light Beige, £9.99  & Healthy Mix Concealer, shade 52 Medium, £8.99

I have reviewed the foundation and concealer earlier this year so check out the post if you're interested in more details but in short these are one of the best offerings in drugstore, in my opinion. The foundation comes in 9 shades which is not amazing but an improvement from the 4 or 5 available in the past, provides light to medium coverage and gives beautiful satin finish mimicking healthy, glowing complexion. It blends effortlessly, it doesn't accentuate dry skin but, unfortunately, it doesn't last all day on my combination skin, I think it is more suited to those with normal to dry skin. Most of the shades available are quite yellow toned which is a good change from all those pink or orange toned drugstore foundations but those of you with cool toned complexions will struggle to get a shade match.
The concealer offers medium coverage, blends flawlessly and once set with a  powder it stays on for hours. It comes in only 3 shades though.

Smoky Stories Eyshadow Quad in 15 Brilliant Brunette, £7.99

I have not tried lots of eyeshadows from Bourjois so I was looking forward to playing with this pretty looking quad. There are three eyeshadows with satin finish and pressed glitter in the middle. The addition of the glitter make the quads perfect for the party season, but be sure to have a glitter glue on hand to help the glitter to stick to the eye lid. The three eyeshadows are very soft and silky, the pigmentation is not the best but they're buildable so if you don't mind a subtle eye look then you might enjoy them. If you want your eye makeup to really pop then I don't think you will achieve that with these quads. I like that the eyeshadows are satin and not shimmery as they look quite flattering even on mature eyes and can be used even in the crease without looking over the top.

I have created my eye look using only this quad and I liked the outcome. I applied the purple shade all over the lid, I had to build it up quite a bit for it to look as vibrant as in the swatch, to deepen my crease I used the taupe shade and for my inner corner the lightest shade, then I added the glitter shade onto the centre of my lid.

Little Round Pot Blusher, shade 34 Rose D'Or, £6.49
Buy here: Boots, Superdrug

Bourjois blushes were my first blushes bought many years ago and I felt very fancy having them in my makeup bag. All the years later and lots of more products that have been tried and tested and I still like them. The pretty compacts come with a  build in mirror and tiny brush which I don't care about but you could definitely use it if you didn't have anything better on hand. The blushes are not crazy pigmented but I like that as I prefer to build them up instead of having clown cheeks with first touch of brush. Rose D'Or is a pretty rose pink shade with subtle golden shimmer which adds nice glow to the cheeks.

Volume Glamour Push Up Mascara, £8.99

Bourjois Volume Glamour Push Up mascara

I have not tried many Bourjois mascaras and those I have weren't my favourite so I didn't have high hopes for the one I received in the box but I am actually really liking it. It doesn't give lots of volume but the brush is perfect for keeping the lashes clumps free and it really does help to push them up making them look more lifted. The formula is just the right consistency without being too wet or dry, very black and it doesn't smudge on me.

Metallic Lip Cream, £7.99
Buy here: Superdrug

Bourjois Metallic Lip Cream
From bottom: 300 Supernova, 100 Guilded Rose, 500 Neon Nights

And last but not least we have the new launch from Bourjois, just in time for all the festive parties, metallic liquid lipsticks. To be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of full on metallic lips but they can be fun to wear for special occasions. What I do like though is applying a little bit of metallic lipstick on top of more matte one, in the centre of my lips, for a subtle shimmer and, so on trend, strobbing effect.
The formula of these Bourjois offerings is really great, they're very pigmented, apply smoothly, are not sticky and last on the lips decent amount of time considering they don't set to a matte finish.
You can check my lip swatches of all three shades on my Instagram.

And this is the look I created using all the Bourjois goodies sent to me by Influenster, it might not be your typical Christmas party look but thanks to the sparkle on the eyes and lips I think it's quite festive anyway. On my lips I mixed the shade Neon Nights with Supernova in the centre of my lips.

I am also wearing Kiss Blooming Lashes style Lily* (available at False Eyelashes)  because my own lashes are way too pathetic to photograph well,  LOL!
