No7 Lift & Luminate Triple Action Serum Foundation - your perfect Winter foundation

Testing out new foundations is one of my favourite things when it comes to makeup, the excitement of trying a new formula with a hope of finding the absolute best for my skin. More often then not the initial excitement is quickly followed by disappointment due to either the shade not matching me perfectly, the foundation not blending seamlessly or not lasting well throughout the day.
Even though I have some brilliant foundations in my stash like Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation (review) there's always some un-ticked box that makes me want to keep looking for the perfect holy grail.
So have I found one yet? No, not yet, but I have a pretty great foundation to talk about today :)

No7 Lift & Luminate Triple Action Serum Foundation

This is a new version of the old Lift & Luminate Foundation, enriched with the Lift & Luminate Triple Action Serum, specifically created with mature skin in mind but, in my opinion, suitable for anyone, over 20 years old, with normal to dry skin.
As many of you probably know I've been working in Boots as No7 beauty advisor for the last 4 months and to become a better consultant for my customers I've been testing out many products from their range. I had been a fan of their Beautifully Matte foundation long before I started working for the company but since then I've tried a few of the other foundations they have on offer and while not all of them are brilliant, in my opinion, the new offering definitely needs a shout out.

"Our unique blend of optical blurrers and light reflecting particles instantly reduce the signs of skin ageing by reflecting light away from fine lines and wrinkles. Skin is left with a radiant healthy glow.
The flexible formula stays in place all day and doesn’t migrate into fine lines and wrinkles despite the thousands of daily facial expressions you make. This comfortable feeling foundation is proven to deliver the ideal level of coverage for ageing skin, which doesn’t mask your natural beauty, keeping skin looking healthy and flawless all day."

The foundation comes in a glass bottle with a pump, it contains 30ml of product and is available in 14 shades (I believe there are more shades available in stores then online so it's best to go to the No7 counter to be shade matched). I have shade Warm Ivory which is the perfect match for my skin tone right now.

The consistency of the foundation is very creamy and on the thicker side but it blends out effortlessly using either your fingers, sponge or makeup brush without feeling heavy or looking cakey on the skin. It gives medium to full coverage with very natural finish, I'd say satin because it's not matte nor dewy. I absolutely love how it blurs the appearance of my pores and fine lines/wrinkles, many foundation likes to sit in them and accentuate them while the Lift & Luminate foundation, true to its claims, makes everything look a bit more flawless.
Even though my skin is on the combination side and my T-Zone gets a bit shiny during the day I have found many matte foundations a bit too drying for my skin (must be the age thing, LOL!) so this offering from No7 gets a big thumbs up from me as it feels hydrating and very comfortable on the skin.
I need to use a mattifying primer with this foundation to avoid looking too shiny but once I apply my primer and set the foundation with powder (I always set all my foundations) I have my base looking perfect for up to 12 hours with only needing to blot my skin and/or touch up with powder after the 7th hour mark.
The foundation doesn't get patchy, it wears off very evenly, it doesn't gather in my pores and I can notice only a very minimal creasing around my nose and smile lines by the end of the day.

No7 Lift & Luminate Triple Action Serum Foundation, before and after photos

As you can see on the photos above my skin tone is quite un-even with some hyperpigmentation, redness and enlarged pores. After applying one layer of foundation (usually I need about two pumps) my skin is looking much more perfected but not cake-y.

If you have oily skin then I don't think this foundation is for you but anyone with more mature and/or normal to dry skin should really enjoy it.
I know I have found my new favourite everyday foundation for Autumn/Winter when my skin tends to get dehydrated and needs something more hydrating and forgiving to look its best while wearing makeup.

Have you tried any No7 foundations? What's your favourite foundation for Winter time?
