1 palette - 3 eye looks, Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette

It's been a while since I've published some makeup looks on my blog, in fact, the last one, 3 eye looks with Too Faced Sweet Peach palette, was done in March! You can tell I've started a job and not had time to play with makeup as much as I used to. But in the last few months I managed to find some time to create a few looks with the ABH Modern Renaissance palette, take the pictures, etc. and finally today I want to share them with you.
I'm very late to that palette's party, it was hyped up last year but I resisted the temptation to buy it as I wasn't sure if I really wanted it. But after many months of thinking about it I've decided to finally get it, right in a middle of a massive hype caused by Urban Decay Heat palette which to me it's just not unique enough to justify the purchase, I mean how many more warm toned eyeshadows do I need? LOL!

I'm sharing with you today three different eye looks created with the Modern Renaissance palette, which I think totally deserve the hype, it's a gorgeous palette with some unique shades, the quality of the eyeshadows is amazing, right from the pigmentation to the blend-ability, although they are very soft and create lots of kick back in the pan, so you need only a light touch with your brush. As long as you are light handed and tap the excess powder from the brush, before applying the eyeshadow to the eyes, you shouldn't have issue with any fallout. I find the eyeshadows very long lasting on the eyes, they don't crease and stay vibrant all day and don't even require any special primer to perform well. Although I always apply a touch of concealer and powder to my lids just to have a nice, blank canvas to work on.

The three eye looks I created for the blog are the ones I keep wearing and they're very easy to do, admittedly 2 of them are quite similar which I have only realised once I started editing the photos but I have to go with them since I won't have time to create any eye looks for the blog for another while.

I still haven't explored all the possibilities that the Modern Renaissance palette offers so I might do another 3 eye looks with it in the future.

I will be focusing on the eye makeup in this post and will share the lipsticks I paired it with but won't be talking about the rest of my makeup as firstly, the post would be way too long, secondly, I can't even remember my base products I used in each look as I've done them in a space of 2 months ;)

1. Pink eyes

I know pink toned eyeshadows are not for everyone but those shades from the palette were the ones that drew me in instantly. I usually use one of the pink shades sparingly in my crease for a more 'wearable' look but here I went all out :)

I applied Buon Fresco in and above my crease as a transitional shade, then added a bit of Love Letter to the crease and applied Venetian Red all over the lid blending it through the crease as well. To brighten up the inner corner I applied Vermeer in the inner part of my lid. Wearing pink/red eyeshadows can be a bit tricky so to avoid the 'I have an eye infection' look I smoked out my upper and lower lash line using Cyprus Umber and ABH black eyeshadow in Noir. I applied a mix of Love Letter and Venetian Red on my lower lid and blended it out with a  small fluffy brush (check my post on everyday makeup brushes). To complete the eye look I highlighted my brow bone with the white shade from the palette, Tempera, lined my upper and lower water line with Makeup Forever Aqua XL Eye Pencil in black and applied mascara and falsies, Nouveau Lashes Natural Style 3.

I paired the eyes with a bold, pink lipstick, No7 Stay Perfect in shade Pomegranate, obviously you can easily toned the whole look down by wearing a pink-ish nude on the lips.

2. Matte eyes

I absolutely love wearing matte smokey eyes, I think they look less dramatic then shimmery ones so I go for this kind of look quite often. Here I used Golden Ochre as my transition shade, in and above the crease and then applied Red Ochre all over the lid blending it into the crease. To deepen up the outer corner I added a bit of Cyprus Umber and brighten up the inner corner by applying Primavera.
I smoked out my lower lash line using mix of Red Ochre and Cyprus Umber. Lined my water line with Makeup Geek eye pencil in Espresso, highlighted my brow bone with Tempera, applied mascara and added falsies, Nouveau Lashes Volume Style 2.

I think this eye look goes perfectly well with red lips so that's what I went for here but you could easily swap red lipstick for a nude one. I used Max Factor Color Elixir Lip Liner in Red Rush to line my lips and help the lipstick stays in place which was the Bourjois Rouge Laque in Red To Toes, a gorgeous glossy red with orange undertones, the lipstick makes the lips appear fuller because of the finish and, surprising, it lasts quite well too leaving a stain behind.

3. Golden eyes

This look is quite similar to the previous one but more glamorous  because of the beautiful gold shade applied to the majority of the lid space. I started the eye look by dusting Burnt Orange through my crease, then I applied Realgar to my outer third of the lid and the crease. To add more dimension to the eyes I darkened the outer corner using Cyprus Umber and then, the star of the show, Primavera was applied from the inner corner though the middle of the lid meeting the matte shades in the outer corner. I smoked out my lower lash line using Realgar and Cyprus Umber and lined my water line with Makeup Geek Eye Pencil in Espresso. As usual, I highlighted my brow bone with Tempera, applied mascara and then added false lashes, Nouveau Lashes Volume Style 1.

For my lips I used one of my all time favourite lipsticks, Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in shade Calypso.

Hope you enjoyed seeing some makeup looks from me again :) Fingers crossed I'll manage some new ones sooner then in a 6 months time, haha!

Do you have Modern Renaissance palette? Which eye look do you love to create with it?
