I haven't been doing regular monthly beauty favourites as I've been trying not to buy lots of new things and many of the favourite products remain the same month after month. But I have gathered some makeup and skincare that I can't stop using so decided to share with you all these awesome products.
This foundation is not new to me, in fact I bought it about a year ago and liked it but then I bought about 10 other ones to try (don't judge, I was on a foundation kick) and never got back to the Maybelline offering. I have the US version of it, bought on eBay, but I like the UK version as well (read my thoughts on it here).
The foundation has quite runny formula which provides light to medium coverage and blends beautifully smoothing over large pores and fine lines. It lasts well on my skin for over 8 hours and doesn't make me look oily throughout the day but it's not drying either. The finish is semi matte and it looks very natural on the skin. I am trying to rotate my products on weekly basis and shop my stash to ensure that I'm using up all my makeup but this foundation is not going back to the drawer as I love it so much and the shade 120 Classic Ivory is my perfect match right now.
Oskia Renaissance Mask, £49.50
I only recently reviewed this mask (post) so I won't be repeating myself but I have to say that I'm really enjoying using it, especially on those days when I'm too lazy/tired to do a triple masking pamper but still want some treatment for my skin as this mask seems to do everything, exfoliate, cleanse and hydrate the skin. I got my deluxe samples from Latest in Beauty box (read about it here).
Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream, £12.95 (mini size)
I've had this cream for a while and when I first started using it couple of month ago I thought it clogged my pores so stopped it for a while. A few weeks ago I reached for it again, no problem this time so I guess it wasn't responsible for my under skin bumps. In the last couple of years my skin has changed a lot, it still has slightly oily T-Zone but otherwise it's pretty normal, bordering on dehydrated. And my usual lightweight, mattifying, day creams are not hydrating enough making my skin feel tight and uncomfortable. Finding the right moisturiser that it's not too heavy for my skin type but also nourishing hasn't been an easy task but the Antipodes Day Cream works really well for me now. It's very hydrating, it feels nourishing on the skin but it gets absorbed quickly and it doesn't leave me with shiny/greasy looking skin. It works perfectly well under makeup as well. If your skin is very oily then I don't think you would enjoy this cream but anyone with dry/normal/combination skin type should.
Key ingredients are: Shea Butter, Squlane (deeply moisturising and nourishing), Avocado Oil, Macadamia Oil, Rosehip Oil, Vitamin E.
This is such a random product which I had for a long time in my stash of deluxe samples and never felt the need to use it but because I'm trying to shop my stash I've decided to give it a go. It's a skincare product that claims to be a tonner/primer hybrid. It has a lightweight gel consistency and for me it looks more like essence/serum then tonner. I have my morning skincare routine well established right now and I'm not planning to add anything new so I decided to use this gel as my foundation primer and I've been loving it. It doesn't do anything in terms of blurring imperfections but it adds hydration to my skin, it's not greasy at all and once massaged into the skin becomes ever so slightly tacky which makes the foundation grabs to it and lasts better during the day. I'm really happy with my little discovery as not only I found myself nice makeup primer but with all the skincare benefits.
The Hydrogel contains skin-friendly extracts of organic vegetable protein, Echinacea and Asparagus and the essential oil of organic Neroli.
I have talked about this lipstick last week (post) but I just had to include it because it has quickly become my favourite everyday shade. It's easy to apply, it feels comfortable on the lips, has satin finish and beautiful pink-y nude shade with a hint of rose which brightens my skin instantly.
Ofra cosmetics are finally available in UK on BeautyBay site and, of course, I had to try their liquid lipsticks as I've only heard great things about them. And I'm not disappointed. The formula is a bit mousse-like but thicker then the NYX Soft Matte Creams and more pigmented, it also applies smoothly without getting patchy. It dries matte but it stays ever so slightly tacky which means it's very comfortable and not drying on the lips. It doesn't accentuate dry skin or fine lines. It lasts well up to 6 hours even with drinking and some eating. The shade I picked is a pretty dusty pink which goes with many makeup looks and works perfect as a daytime or night time lipstick choice.
I had wanted to try some Sigma eye brushes for a while but because they're not exactly cheap and I have a set of eye brushes that I love it wasn't my priority. But when I saw this set on Beauty Bay I just added it to my basket without thinking twice. It contains three bestselling Sigma eye brushes, E40, E45, E25 which I had on my wish list so it was a perfect way of getting them a bit cheaper then buying them individually. And they have copper ferules, how pretty!
I am obsessed with these brushes, they're so well made, very soft and they blend eyeshadows better then any other eye brushes I've tried. I don't know what's so special about them but they really do deserve the hype.
I wanted to get the Too Faced Glitter Glue for the longest time but didn't fancy paying for it almost £20 so when we finally had the NYX version available in UK I couldn't be happier to get my hands on it. It's an eyeshadow primer that applies clear on the lid and stays a bit tacky so you can easily stick your glitter or pigment to it. I love using it even with shimmery/metallic eyeshadows as they appear more vibrant when applied on top of it and stay like this all day. Shimmery eyeshadows tend to transfer to my upper lid thanks to my eye shape but the Glitter Primer helps them stay in place. I love it! I've used it with pigments and glitters and it helps them to adhere and stay on the lid without causing fallout during the day.
Last but not least I've been loving these false lashes from Nouveau Lashes as they add beautiful definition to the eyes, a bit more drama without being over the top or too dramatic.
I've been lucky to be chosen as a part of a #lashgang to work with the brand and have received some of their products to try and amongst some other models of lashes this one, so far, is my favourite. They're very lightweight with an invisible band and the lash glue they come with is latex free and best one I used so far.
Have you tried any of these products? What makeup or skincare have you been loving lately?
