Although I'm not a qualified makeup artist and I have lots to learn, I absolutely enjoy creating makeup looks and sharing them with you guys. I've been doing makeup look posts on my blog for a long time and I'm not planning to stop them even though I had to reduce their frequency as it takes a long time to prepare them and I seem to be having less and less free time nowadays.
Anyway I'm here today with new series on my blog, 1 palette - 3 eye looks, starting with the beautiful Zoeva Caramel Melange palette (review).
I think it's quite common, and it happens to me all the time, that we buy an eyeshadow palette, plan to get creative with our looks and then stick to the same one over and over again using only a handful of shades. So to encourage you to play more with your palettes and inspire you to create new looks I want to share with you 3 different eye looks I've done using Caramel Melange palette which I'm obsessed with lately.
I want to focus on the eye look, which shades from the palette I used and how I applied them and also what lipstick I paired the eye with. I won't be talking about the rest of my face makeup but if you wonder about something then don't hesitate to ask me in the comments section :)
I always prime my eye lids with concealer set with powder to prepare the eye for eye makeup and apply eye primer, my usual choice is by Freedom Makeup, to help the eyeshadows stick to the lid better and appear more vibrant.
Makeup look 1
I wanted to create soft cut crease look but my eye shape (deep set, slightly hooded and with small space between the crease and brows) doesn't really let this happen as the crease is not visible, unless I close my eyes, and I don't have much are to work on but I tried my best.
I applied shades Alchemy and Finish Sensual in my crease and slightly above using fluffy blending brush. Then with much denser blending brush I defined the crease even more using shade Slow Dance from Naturally Yours palette (you could use Edible Gem form the Carmel Melange palette). Next I applied the gorgeous metallic shade Liquid Center all over my lid and highlighted my inner corner with very light gold shade Casual Elegance from Naturally Yours palette but you could also
use shade Almost Burnt from Caramel Melange palette which I actually used on the inner third of my lower lash line.
To highlight my brow bone I used the white matte shade from the palette.
I lined my upper and lower lashes with black eye liner and created a wing. Using mixture of Alchemy and Finish Sensual I smoked out my lower lash line and defined my lash line with shade Slow Dance.
I applied mascara to my lashes and added false lashes, Nouveau Lashes model Glamour style 1* which add more drama to the look without being to over the top.
For my brows I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer in Medium Brown.
To complement the eye look I chose Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Calypso.
Makeup look 2
This is quite dramatic smokey eyes, I wanted to create kind of cat eye look with bright inner corner and dark outer part of the eye.
I started the eye look by dusting shade Start Soft into my crease and above on a fluffy brush (check all my favourite makeup brushes here), then I darkened the outer corner of my eye with brown eye pencil, smudge it slightly and applied shade Edible Gem on top of it blending it into the crease.
When I was happy with the intensity of my outer corner I then applied shade Almost Burnt to the inner half of my lid and then tap with my finger a bit of shade 181℃ in the centre of the lid between the gold and the dark purple blending all the shades together. I lined my upper and lower lash line with black pencil and smoked it out on my lower lid using Edible Gem and Start Soft.
I highlighted my inner corner with the gold shade and my brow bone with the matte white eyeshadow.
For my lashes I picked Nouveau Lashes model Volume style 2.
To fill in my brows I used NYX Brow Pomade in Brunette.
For my lips I chose Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in shade Hitch Hike.
Makeup look 3
I've been really loving all matte eye looks lately and with so many gorgeous matte shades in the Caramel Melange palette I decided to use them on my eyes adding only a bit of shine for my inner corners.
I blended shade Start Soft into my crease, then deepened my crease and outer corner with shade Finish Sensual. For my lid I used a mixture of Aftertaste and Alchemy for a beautiful peachy
Using black matte eyeshadow I lined my upper lash line, created a small wing and then lightly smoke it out upwards.
I lined my water line with black eye pencil and then smudged out with shade Finish Sensual and Start Soft.
To highlight my brow bone I used matte white eyeshadow from the palette and for my inner corner I used Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Peach Glow.
For my lashes I chose Nouveau Lashes model Natural style 3 which I'm in love with as they look very voluminous but not too dramatic.
On my lips I applied Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Serenity to continue with the peachy vibe going on.
I hope you enjoyed this post and got some inspirations to create new looks with your Caramel Melange palette or any other similar shades you have in your collection.
My favourite look, out of these three, is the all matte one, it's just super easy to create and it looks girly yet elegant. And like I mentioned before I'm loving all matte looks lately :)
Let me know which look is your favourite?
If you like this kind of makeup posts and would like for me to continue doing them you can share which eyeshadow palettes would you like me to use in the future. If I have them I will definitely work on looks with them.
