What's in my holiday makeup bag?

On Wednesday my family and I are going on holidays to sunny Benalmadena, Costa Del Sol in Spain and I couldn't be more excited. I don't know about you but I love getting ready for any sort of 'going away' occasion, planning my outfits and choosing clothes, accessories I want to take and of course my beauty bits. I thought it would be fun to share with you the content of my makeup bag which will be going with me on holidays.

Makeup tutorial: easy Summer makeup look feat. Too Faced Sweet Peach palette

In today's post I want to share with you simple and quick makeup look which is perfect for a sunny day or Summer evening. I've been enjoying wearing this kind of look for a while and I'm sure it will be one I would do on my holidays. While I won't be wearing much, if any, makeup during the day I know that for the evening I want to glam up a bit but at the same time I don't want to spend ages in front of the mirror instead of enjoying free drinks at the pool bar :)
For my eye look I used the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette which contains some beautiful warm toned shades, perfect for Summer.

Shopping my stash, project 'pan', spending ban - update

Over three weeks ago I started my little project to shop my stash in order to re-discover some older makeup favourites, to try to finish off some products or simply decide that I no longer want them. I also decided to restrict myself to buying only products that I really need and stop spending lots of money on makeup just because something looks pretty or sounds amazing, while I already have a big collection of pretty things to use.
Because I'm off on my holidays next week and will be taking a little break from blogging I wanted to share my update with you today on how I did with my plans.

NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint SPF30 - review, before & after photos

As I mentioned before on my blog, finding the perfect foundation has been the never ending challenge for me and on top of that I just like trying new formulations. So when I got the opportunity to pick one of the latest makeup releases available in House Of Fraser I knew immediately I want to test the new Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint SPF 30* (£30) which has been praised by many beauty bloggers and beauty enthusiasts. It also seemed like a fantastic lightweight foundation with high SPF to use during Summer months and on my upcoming holidays. Although I haven't been using it for a long time I am ready to share with you my thoughts on this Nars product.

Makeup tutorial: smokey matte brown eyes and bright coral lips

In today's post I want to share with you makeup look that had been on my mind for quite some time but I feel like it's a more Summery look so I wanted to wait till the weather warms up a bit and we're more inclined to wear warmer tones on our face and bright lipsticks. This look is suitable for many skin tones and perfect for any age as I'm using almost all matte shades on my lids which usually look very good even on mature skin. And bright lipstick makes anyone look more youthful and playful. It's a great makeup for many occasions but Summer evening is just perfect for that in my opinion.
So let's get to it!

Recent "empties" - skincare and perfumes

I don't write "empties" posts often, in fact, the last time I published one it was November last year, lol! It doesn't mean that I don't use up any products because I certainly do, mainly skincare and body care, I even keep the empty bottles but it's hard for me to write about them as there is always something more exciting to share with my readers. Then I'm sick of all the trash around my bathroom and chuck all the empties in the bin. And then keep collecting them again :)
But today I'm being the good beauty blogger and will be sharing with you my thoughts on products that I managed to use up in the last few weeks.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation - review, before and after photos

Finding the perfect foundation that will work well with my ever changing skin has been a quest for me for a long time. Hence me trying so many foundations in the last year or so. There have been moments when I thought I found the holy grail but a few weeks later my skin became dehydrated or dry and flaky or more oily and the product didn't work as well anymore or it didn't agree with the skincare products I was using or, simply, the shade didn't match as well as I hoped it would.
When I was placing my Sephora order I decided to try one of the foundations that are harder to find in UK and because I had heard many great reviews about the new Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation ($39) it made its way to my virtual basket and into my hands. I also bought the matching Double - Ended Foundation Brush ($34) cause it had great reviews on Sephora website and I wanted to treat myself to some fancy brush :)

Makeup inspired by nature: sky, sea & beach...

In three weeks I'll be relaxing on a Spanish beach of Costa Del Sol and, believe me, I can't wait for it! But in the meantime let me daydream of sandy beaches and turquoise waters :)
Today I am sharing with you makeup look that was inspired by one of the pictures of Malaga's beach that I came across when browsing the internet and planning our holidays.
Isn't it just dreamy?

Very affordable brushes from Makeup Revolution

Having the right tools to apply makeup is just as important as the makeup products themselves. I remember having only one brush which I used for blush and the rest of my makeup I would apply with my fingers, sponged applicators or sponges in general (not a beauty blender though). But these days are long gone and currently I own lots of brushes and have preferences on which brush to use for different products. Majority of my brushes are from Zoeva, Real Techinques or Morphe but I also own some cheap brushes from eBay which I reach for daily so, not always, quality comes with a higher price tag.
Today I want to share with you 9 Piece Amazing Brush Collection* (£20) from Makeup Revolution which is not only very affordable but also good quality and makes a perfect starter kit for someone who owns none or very few brushes.

April beauty favourites

How is it May already?? This year surely is flying by! So much to do, not enough hours during the day, LOL! Although I'm quite excited as we're going on holidays by the end of May so I don't mind the next few weeks to by pass quickly.
Today I will share with you some new and some re-discovered old products that I've been loving and enjoying using in April. Seeing as there are many I want to talk about, let's just jumped straight to them.
