Makeup tutorial: Makeup Geek 'Pillow Talk'

Today I'm sharing with you makeup look which will be perfect for the Bank Holiday weekend, a bit more dramatic but still wearable, great for an evening out or meeting with friends. If you've seen my collection of Makeup Geek eyeshadows  you know that I got my hands on one of the new shades called Pillow Talk and as soon as it arrived I wanted to slap it all over my eyes, it's so beautiful!
I wasn't sure where I want to go with my makeup look I just knew I want the shade Pillow Talk as a centre of the attention, at the end I ended up with a bit of cat eye which, I think adds a bit of edge to the, otherwise, girly look.
So without further ado let's get to the makeup tutorial :)

Makeup Geek eyeshadows, my collection

If you're a beauty enthusiast and someone who reads beauty blogs and watches beauty videos on YouTube, I'm sure you know Makeup Geek eyeshadows and Marlena, the YouTube beauty guru, creator and CEO of Makeup Geek brand. I had wanted to try her eyeshadows for a long time since discovering her channel 2 years ago but ordering from US never appealed to me. So of course when UK online shop, Beauty Bay, started stocking them by the end of last year I had to try them to see why they're so hyped up. 5 months later I'm the owner of over 30 shades and I'm not planning to stop at this point. While creating a custom palette might be a great idea for someone who just wants some specific shades that will be used daily, for me it's a dangerous slope cause I like to experiment with different colours, I'm an eyeshadow addict and I have a strong feeling that I won't stop until I collect most of the available shades. I know, I have a problem, LOL!

Shopping my stash, project "pan" and spending ban

Today I'm coming with a bit of different post from my regular beauty reviews or makeup looks as I feel like the time has come to put myself on a spending ban and shop my stash. Ever since starting blogging about beauty my makeup collection has been steadily growing, which it's kind of understandable as I want to try different things in order to compare one to another and have a bigger knowledge of what works best for me, so my beauty reviews are more comprehensive and useful.
Of course being a beauty blogger and reading lots of other blogs made me become a beauty junkie which I don't regret in the slightest and I'm thoroughly enjoying trying and testing new products.
But I've reached a point when I'm feeling a little bit overwhelmed with the amount of makeup I have, even though I'm sure it's not the biggest collection you've ever seen, and I'm slightly sad that all these products that I spent so much money on aren't being used enough.
So it's time to challenge myself to not buy any new makeup, which isn't necessary, for at least a month and shop my stash to show more love to those neglected products that have been in my collection for awhile.

Makeup tutorial using Too Faced Sweet Peach palette

Even though the Too Faced Sweet Peach (review) palette didn't impressed me as much as I was hoping for I still like it and reach for it often as there are some beautiful shades, perfect for this time of year (check my Spring makeup picks). Today I want to share with you makeup look created with this palette and I used shades that may seem like they shouldn't work together but they actually paired beautifully and I really liked the finished eye look and how it enhanced my eye colour.
So let's get to it :)

Spring makeup picks

Although there are no rules in makeup and you can totally wear whatever you like most of us, probably, switch things up a bit when the season changes. With Spring in full bloom I thought I would share with you some makeup bits that are very Spring appropriate in my eyes and ones that I've been reaching for and certainly will for the next couple of months.
When the weather warms up, the flowers start blooming and sun is shining I like my makeup to look fresh and youthful. Although I still can enjoy a dark smokey eyes and vampy lips on a Saturday evening, on everyday basis I reach for different tones, lots of pink and peach shades to give me that sense of girlie, youthful Spring makeup.
I have lots of products that I will be using for the next few months but I'm sharing with you some of my favourites which usually got to be used the most around this time of year.

Too Faced Sweet Peach palette, is it worth the hype?

Ever since Too Faced announced the new Sweet Peach palette on their Instagram I knew I'll have to have it. I'm a big fan of Too Faced palettes, I think they're beautiful, the quality is great and they're just a pleasure to work with. So as a beauty junkie who is obsessed with eyeshadow palettes it was unavoidable I will own the Sweet Peach palette as soon as it's available. I ordered it from Sephora website taking advantage of my birthday (check my Sephora haul) and I've been enjoying using it ever since.
This palette has become very hyped up, to the point that it's been selling out in minutes the moment it's available on any website. Of course it's beautiful, of course the packaging is adorable and considering it's Too Faced the quality should be spot on.
But is it really worth the hype?

Get smoother thighs with CelluBlue Cup

With Summer quickly approaching many of us have probably started to think of getting that dream bikini-ready body as fast as possible and with not too much effort. I sure did!
I'm not going to lie, I'm the last person to join any gym or to start exercising at home, thankfully with my lifestyle I maintain healthy weight for me but, of course, during Winter I did gained a few pounds that need to go away now we have planned our holidays. Being a mummy of two means that my body went through lots of changes (hormonal and in weight) during pregnancies and right after them. Although I was very lucky not get stretch marks on my body I got some cellulite on my thighs and bottom over the years. So when Perrine representing CelluBlue Cup got in contact with me asking if I'd like to test the CelluBlue Cup on myself I said quickly 'yes'. A simple and non invasive way to improve the skin firmness gets my approval straightaway.

Sephora haul and my first impressions on the products

Last week I celebrated my birthday and my husband agreed that instead of buying me a surprise gift, as usual, I can place a Sephora order which I had wanted to do for ages. Obviously as a beauty enthusiast there are so many products I want to try but they aren't easily available in UK so my Sephora wish list is quite long. But I had to be sensible and order just a few products and leave the rest for another time. Even though Sephora offer flat shipping rate of £6 on orders over £75 there are taxes and duties to be paid at the checkout so the additional fees are quite high, I had to pay almost £30 on top of my over £100 order plus shipping.
So Sephora order is definitely a treat and what a better time to treat yourself then your birthday :)

'So Quiche', purple & olive eye makeup look

Another Friday, another makeup look on my blog :) This time I want to share with you look I created using one of the ColourPop eyeshadows (check my ColourPop haul) called So Quiche. It's a beautiful light khaki with lots of purple sparkles which make the shade multi-dimensional and very unique. I wanted to accentuate the purple tones in it so I paired it with purple matte eyeshadow and I really liked the finished look.
Let me show you how I did it.

New skincare products on trial

As much as I love playing with and buying new makeup, skincare is also a great passion of mine. Without good solid skincare routine it's hard to have a healthy looking skin (check out my skincare routine post) so it should be a priority for everyone. As a beauty blogger and a beauty junkie I love to try new things and discover new brands and today I will talk to you about few new products which I've been trialling for the last month and I'm ready to share with you my thoughts on them.

March beauty favourites

We're well and truly over March now so it's time for me to share with you beauty products that took the favourites spot in the last few weeks. It's always hard for me to choose just a few products as I use so many on daily basis that I thoroughly enjoy but I don't want to keep repeating myself every month. Having said that I still love everything from February favourites post but today will share with you more things worth my recommendation.

Soft Spring makeup look

With the Spring in full swing I'd like to share with you today a makeup look that is soft and feminine, with a bit of pink, perfect for a Spring day or night. For my eyes I used the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bon palette (review) which I can't stop using, it's so pretty, the quality is great and all those pink tones make me think of Spring. This look would complement any eye colour and most skin tones so hopefully it will inspire some of you to re-create it.
