Morphe Brushes, why do you need to try them?

If you watch American beauty gurus on YouTube or even follow some American beauty junkies on Instagram chances are that you're very much aware of Morphe Brushes brand. They deliver good quality but very affordable makeup products and brushes. After totally falling in love with their eyeshadow palettes (check my review) I decided to try their brushes.
Morphe Brushes products are stocked on a few UK websites, I usually buy from Beauty Bay, because their prices are the lowest and they offer free delivery on orders over £15 and the parcel is always with me within 2 days of placing the order.
I've collected quite a few Morphe brushes over the last few months and I want to share with you my thoughts on them.

Makeup look using Urban Decay Naked palette

Urban Decay Naked palettes are one of those makeup items that almost every beauty enthusiast/junkie owns at least one of them or think of getting it. I was very late to the Naked's party but when I finally bought the Naked 1 palette I wasn't particularly excited about it. I'm not sure why because it's a beautiful palette and the quality is definitely there, although it didn't blown me away to be honest, I have better palettes. Anyway, I've had this palette for over 8 months and I rarely reach for it so I've decided it's time to make my money worth it and start using it.
Today I want to share with you makeup look I created with the Naked 1 palette and one of the new Urban Decay & Gwen Stefani lipsticks.

New releases from Maybelline

A few weeks ago I needed a new mascara, yes, I actually NEEDED something makeup related which is so rare nowadays for me :) Anyway, I went to Boots to choose the mascara and, just like your regular beauty junkie, I couldn't leave with only mascara, could I? So I picked up couple of, newly released in UK, products from Maybelline which is a brand I really like and many of their products like nail polishes, concealers, lip pencils are some of my favourites so I had high hopes for the things I picked up.

The nude lipsticks edit

As much as I love bright and bold lipsticks there is no doubt that I can't be without my favourite nude shades which are perfect with any makeup look and easy to wear on everyday basis. Every beauty junkie enthusiast knows that there are lots of shades of a nude lipstick, from browns, beiges, peaches to pinks. I usually reach for those leaning towards pink shades, but I also like brown and mauve toned nude lipsticks. Today I want share with you my current favourite everyday, 'goes with everything' lipsticks.

'Mummy's Beauty Corner' is 2! Blogging anniversary giveaway!

Two years ago I started this little blog of mine and it has been one of the best decisions I've made. Blogging about beauty and being part of the blogging community has become my great passion and amazing hobby. Yes, regular blogging takes lots of time and effort but it's been an amazing journey for me and totally worth it.
I'm very grateful for all of you who visit my blog, leave lovely comments and support my work so as a little 'Thank you' I am hosting a giveaway  to win a beautiful Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in your chosen shade.
I've been on a real lipstick kick lately and having tried the luxurious Charlotte Tilbury lipstick and totally falling in love with it (I need more shades!) I've decided to give one away to one of you, I wish I could give one to each of you but I have to wait first for the winning lottery ticket :)

Makeup inspired by nature #1 Crocuses

Sadly the 'Makeup through the decades' series on my blog has finished (you can check the roundup here) so I decided to start a new series of posts that will give me a reason to have more fun with makeup and be creative and for you, hopefully, to enjoy them and maybe even get inspired.
I've asked if you had any ideas, requests for new makeup looks and some of you gave me a few options which I will definitely consider in the near future but today I want to start a series that I have been thinking of for a while, it's 'makeup inspired by nature' or, more accurately, by a pretty picture of nature. Obviously, it's nothing innovative, I've seen this kind of posts on many blogs or YouTube channels but as there's infinite amount of inspiration in nature I thought I would create my own series and share with you my makeup looks.
I want the looks to be quite wearable so I won't be painting flowers on my face but I will rather take inspiration from the colours and the overall feel/character of the picture.

New from Bourjois: City Radiance Foundation and Radiance Reveal Concealer

Bourjois is one of my favourite drugstore brands, I like many of their products and have used their foundations for years, Healthy Mix being one of my favourites. After recently falling in love with the Air Mat (review) I was very curious about the latest addition, the City Radiance foundation, so I picked it up together with the new Radiance Reveal concealer. I used to be scared of anything that promises radiance or luminosity as my skin has been combination/oily but lately only my T-zone is a bit oilier and the rest of my face is more on a normal side and I'm all about healthy glowing complexion so I though I give these two products a go.

"Ageing skin is not a flaw..." Avene PhysioLift range - review

"Ageing skin is not a flaw, ageing skin has specific needs."
Following a good skincare routine has been always very important to me, since early teenage years I've been looking after my skin, although the products I was using were not always right for me. More often then not I was treating my combination/oily skin too harsh hence it wasn't looking its best for years.
Only in the recent couple of years I have learnt a lot more about what my skin needs and, finally, I am quite happy with how it looks. Of course it's not perfectly flawless but it's much better then it was.
At the age of 36 I am also very much aware that my aging skin is loosing its firmness and plumpness so using the right products to make it look its best at every age is important to me.

Urban Decay & Gwen Stefani lipsticks, review and swatches of Firebird and Wonderland

The collaboration between Urban Decay and Gwen Stefani got me super excited at first but then I wasn't very tempted by the products from the line, except the lipsticks. For some reason I'm on lipsticks kick as you have probably noticed if you're a regular reader of my blog, (just check my NYX haul) so decided to get couple of colours. There are 8 shades in the range, most of them are different tones of red which you would expect knowing that it's a collaboration with Gwen Stefani. I chose Wonderland (£16) - vibrant red with pink undertones and Firebird (£16) - deep fuchsia with blue shift to it.

NYX haul and quick reviews of the products

When NYX started being available in Boots and on FeelUnique I jumped with an excitement and, like probably half of the nation, ordered some products from the brand that has been always praised by lots of beauty enthusiasts across the pond. Then I ordered some more and then a bit more :) I have been quite impressed by many of these products and after testing them for a few weeks I'm ready to share with you what I got and my thoughts on them.

Makeup through the decades - the roundup of the series

If you've been a regular reader of my blog then you've probably seen my 'Makeup through the decades' series. For over 5 months every couple of weeks, or so, I was presenting my take on makeup trends of the decade starting with 1920s finishing at 2000s. Many of you supported the idea and my posts which I'm very grateful for and appreciate every single comment, thank you!
I had so much fun researching how the makeup trends have been changing through the decades and choosing the most characteristic ones to create my makeup which would represent in the best way the particular decade.

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Kiss Chase - review and swatches

I'm sure I don't need to introduce you to Charlotte Tilbury, probably every beauty enthusiast knows the brand, owns some of their luxurious products or lusts after them. I had been wanting to try something from the brand for ages but, somehow, I hadn't got anything until last week when Charlotte Tilbury released two new shades of her lipsticks. A few weeks back she announced a competition on brand's social media to choose a name for the new shade she was bringing out, which I think was such a nice idea and one that drew my attention instantly to those new lipsticks. The winning name is Between The Sheets and belongs to the new shade, described as vintage rose petal, from the Matte Revolution range. As much as I love the name and the lipstick looks beautiful I don't think it would suit me (problem of online orders) so I opted for the second shade (which was also named by one of Charlotte Tilbury followers), Kiss Chase (£23), described as tawny berry hue, from the K.I.S.S.I.N.G range.

Morphe Brushes 35O and 35T palettes - are they worth the hype?

Morphe Brushes is an American brand who specialises in makeup brushes and eyeshadows. Ever since Jaclyn Hill (beauty guru on YouTube) recommended their products couple of years ago and then collaborated with a brand and created an eyeshadow palette containing all her favourite single eyeshadows from Morphe Brushes, the world went crazy for the brand. Since then lots of people on YouTube talked and recommended them for their affordable but good quality brushes and eyeshadows. Last year Morphe Brushes released a few new eyeshadow palettes which got super popular to the point that they were selling out in a couple of minutes every time they went back in stock, especially the super hyped 35O palette. I was lucky enough to get this and the 35T palette when they were available on BeautyBay.
