As I mentioned in my recent favourites post I've been really enjoying using my Makeup Geek eyeshadows, I have so many beautiful warm, autumnal shades that I feel inspired every time I look at my custom palette. Today I want to share with you makeup look I posted a picture of a couple of weeks ago an on my Instagram and many of you liked it (thank you!) so I thought I'll let you know how I created it. The main inspiration for the look was Makeup Geek eyeshadow Ritzy which is a deep green duo-chrome with red-ish base and golden reflects. It's absolutely stunning and pairs beautifully with Bitten, burgundy shade. I complemented the eyes with deep red lipstick but it would look equally good with brown-ish nude.
Foundation: Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer, shade 04 Medium Beige, I absolutely love this foundation and wear it even without a primer as it still looks perfect on its own and lasts well. I need to get lighter shade as, sadly my tan has faded and it looks a bit too dark for me now, I still can wear it though if I balance it out with much lighter concealer.
Concealer: I corrected my under eye circles with Pixi Correction Concentrate and highlighted under my eyes and the centre of my face with Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer in Light which has a very lightweight and hydrating formula and while on its own it doesn't provide too much coverage it's perfect for highlighting purposes.
Powder: I used Bourjois Healthy Balance, shade 52 Vanilla, to set my concealer and foundation.
Bronzer: to bronze my skin and add definition to my cheeks I used the Surreal Light Bronzer from the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Surreal Light palette which has become my 'go to' face palette, I am obsessed with the quality of all the products and the shade selection.
Blush: Surreal Glow from the Hourglass palette, it's a very pale golden pink shade which looks absolutely beautiful and subtle on the skin.
Highlighter: Surreal Strobe Light from the Hourglass palette.
Eyeshadows: Makeup Geek: Bitten, Chickadee, Ritzy, Gold Digger
Eyeliner*: Seventeen Wet Look Lacquer Liner in Black, this is such a good affordable liner, the brush is super fine so it's easy to draw a thin, precise line, the formula is super black and it stays put on my eyes all day.
Eye pencil: Makeup Geek Full Spectrum Eye Pencil in Espresso, I love these eye pencils, they're soft, very pigmented and stay on my water line much longer then others.
Mascara: Bourjois Volume Reveal, it's not my favourite mascara but it's great for soft definition and when I wear false lashes.
False Lashes: Vegas Nay Easy Elegance*, beautiful wispy, flirty lashes that feel absolutely lightweight on the eyes yet add some more drama and glam to the eye look.
Seventeen Mega Matte Lipstick in Rioja Your World*, I absolutely love this lipstick, so pigmented, the finish is really matte yet the formula is not drying and it stays on the lips for a good few hours even with some snacking and drinking in the meantime. The colour is a gorgeous deep red and being a lover of Rioja make the shade name perfect for me :)
And this is the finished look :)
I hope you enjoyed this look, I've been quite obsessed with this eyeshadow combination and have worn it a few times already, it looks very complex but it's so easy to do, especially if you skip the eyeliner.
What kind of autumnal makeup look have you been rocking lately?
PS. I know that I mentioned in my blog schedule update that I will be posting on Mondays and Thursdays but somehow I keep forgetting about Thursday as I've been posting on Fridays for a long time, so I didn't have the post completely ready to publish it on Thursday, sorry. I will try to organise myself better next week! Have a great weekend all!
