Can someone tell me where has July gone?? I can't believe it's August already! I swear the time is escaping through my fingers!
Anyway, I'm here today to chat with you about some of my latest favourite things. I didn't try many new makeup or skincare products last month and I've been still loving many things from my June beauty favourites but I managed to choose a few new things that were a big hit these past few weeks. And because there are not that many beauty favourites I've decided to share with you some other things that I've been obsessed with.
So let's get started!
The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit palette is not a new product to me but even though I've been enjoying all the powders since the very first use, every now and then I fall in love with one of them juts a bit more. My latest love affair has been with the Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze which gives the most beautiful sun-kissed look to my skin with a touch of glow. I've been absolutely obsessed with this bronzer and although it's super pigmented and you only need to touch your brush to get enough product I can see the pan getting flatter, I've been using it every day for the last 4, 5 weeks. The palette is not available anymore, sadly, but you can get the bronzer as an individual product and I imagine that the full size will last you for a very long time.
Continuing with the glow-y complexion I want to tell you about my current favourite highlighter, it's the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Peach Glow, £21. I'm very fussy when it comes to highlighters and I'm not a massive fan of the very intense, metallic look on myself, I much prefer subtle radiance and I need my highlighting powders to be very finely milled without any glitter so they won't accentuate my pores or imperfections. And this Laura Geller offering is one of those beautiful products that give a nice luminosity to the skin without looking OTT. And the shade Peach Glow is a gorgeous peachy pink. I love to apply it with my Morphe M501 brush (check post on my essential makeup brushes) which blends the product into the skin flawlessly.
When it comes to lips I've been still enjoying my corals and hot pinks and my usual everyday makeup consists on very simple eye look and bright lips. There are many lip products I'm loving currently but I've spoken about them already so I want to mentioned those that haven't appeared in favourites post before.
Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Luminous Modern Matte Lipstick in Electric Poppy, £23, although I wasn't blown away by these lipsticks and another shade I got, Miranda May, ended up in my recent disappointing products I've been really enjoying wearing this bright hot pink with coral undertones, it applies smoothly, feels very comfortable on the lips and it lasts well, although it needs to be re-applied after eating.
ColourPop Ultra Satin Lips are one of my favourite liquid lipsticks, the formula is fantastic, very pigmented, it applies smoothly without accentuating dry skin or lines, doesn't feel drying at all yet it lasts a good amount of time on the lips. I have a few shades but my latest obsession has become Lyin' King which is not only a gorgeous deep raspberry shade (check it on my lips in my latest makeup tutorial) but also the formula is somehow even better then the other shades I have, it stays on my lips for hours even when eating and drinking without getting flaky or smudging everywhere.
I never thought I would love an eyebrow gel but ever since I've tried the Benefit Ready, Set, Brow! clear gel, £18.5, which I got as a magazine freebie last month, I don't think I can use any other brow gel anymore. The formula is great, it sets my brows, keep them in place all day, it's not sticky and it doesn't make my brows look dry and crispy. Also the brush it comes with is excellent at styling the brows.
I would have never thought of getting a perfume from Mark & Spencer but actually I have fallen in love with their fragrance from the Rosie for Autograph range, I got a deluxe sample of the Nuit Perfume in some beauty box and although I wasn't expecting much I got to be pleasantly surprised. Not only the scent is really beautiful, with notes of French centifolia rose, essence of jasmine flowers and warming, sensual musk but it also lasts hours on my skin. And it's super affordable! I will be definitely checking the other scents when I get the chance to be in large M&S.
When it comes to fashion I'm not one to be following every new trend and buying new wardrobe every season, I much prefer to spend my money on beauty then clothes, LOL! But, obviously, as all women, I do enjoy getting some new pieces every now and then. Although I very rarely fall in love with shoes when I saw this Kurt Geiger Miss KG Caiden model of heeled sandals, £75, (currently on sale) I just had to have it. Super feminine, fun and pretty! They add a girly touch to any outfit, I've worn them with dresses for a date night and with skinny jeans for drinks with girls or lunch with my boys. I've been absolutely obsessed with this pair of shoes and every time I get the opportunity to wear them I do!
The next two favourites go hand in hand together, if you follow my Snapchat (mummysbeauty) then you've probably seen that Friday night is mine's wild Netflix night, LOL! We have this routine with my hubby that, once our boys are in beds, we celebrate the end of the working week with few drinks, our favourite snacks and current favourite TV show. We've been watching The Good Wife for a few weeks and we're really enjoying it, it's a legal and political drama with some romance behind. We're finishing season 4, there are 7 in total, so we still have a few weeks to go, hopefully the show will stay as good till the end.
And our favourite food to join the drinks and the show has been baked camembert with chorizo, we're obsessed with it and can't have our Friday night without it! If you're lover of cheese and chorizo you must try it as it's delicious, served with fresh French baguette to dip it in the melted centre! Yummy!
So that's it, all my most favourite things of the past few weeks.
