We're half way through the year already and as soon as the Summer months are gone we'll be talking about Christmas, how crazy is that? I swear the older I get the time goes faster!
Anyway we're here to talk about some beauty products I've been loving in the last few weeks, some are new, some are old favourites which have been shown a bit of love again. I found myself reaching for the same makeup items almost every day which just shows how much I enjoyed them. My skincare routine hasn't changed much but I introduced couple of new products into it and one has seriously stole my heart so it deserves the 'favourites' spot.
As it's the only skincare product in this post I will talk about the DECLÉOR Aroma Lisse Energising Smoothing Cream SPF 15* first, currently £41.60 on Beauty Expert instead of £52.
It's my first time trying products from Decleor, French brand which for over 40 years has been bringing innovative aromatherapy skincare on the beauty market.
Combining nature’s purest and most potent active ingredients, DECLÉOR scientifically selects and masterfully blends premium Essential Oils to deliver for each skin need, targeted and proven skincare solutions.
Aroma Lisse Energising Smoothing Cream is specially developed for young women with first signs of aging, it contains Mandarin Essential Oil to repair DNA damaged by UV radiation and protect against free radicals, Galanga Extract to stimulate the natural production of hyaluronic acid, plus Orange Extract and Hyaluronic Acid to immediately hydrate and plump the skin. In addition, toning Ginseng Extract which eliminates signs of fatigue and pearlescent particles to illuminate and brighten the complexion.
I've been using this cream as my morning moisturiser for over 3 weeks and while I can't comment on any long term benefits yet, like reduce of my lines and wrinkles, I can totally agree that it hydrates and plumps my skin beautifully, leaving it slightly luminous.
It has subtle citrusy scent which makes a pleasure to apply it in the morning, yet it doesn't linger for too long. The consistency is quite reach, although not thick or greasy, but it sinks in to the skin quickly. It makes my skin feel very comfortable and nourished and not oilier at all which I was a bit afraid of as it is a heavier moisturiser from I usually like to use in the morning. What I love the most about it is how it leaves my skin looking healthy and naturally glowing, which I didn't realised until I stopped using it for a week. Now I'm back to it.
The packaging is plastic with built-in pump which is great, the only small negative is that you can't tell if the product is finishing as the container is not transparent. Other then that I highly recommend this cream for someone with mature or normal to dry skin.
Let's get to the makeup now.
Ever since I got the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation, Hylamide HA Blur primer and Seventeen Wow! Skin Concealer* I used them almost every day as my base products and I love how they make my skin look more even, illuminated and pores and imperfections blurred.
If you want to know more about each product I have a post where I talk about them in more details. The foundation in the shade 220 is getting a bit too dark for me as my tan is fading (*sobs quietly*) but I have another one much lighter so will be mixing them together from now on.
Although I am a massive fan of Beauty Blender for applying my foundation I've been using the Nanshy Duo-Fibre Stippling brush for the Maybelline foundation and I absolutely love the results, much more then when using a sponge. The foundation has a very runny formula and I find that this brush blends it seamlessly and gives me better coverage.
I've been wearing very simple eye makeup on everyday basis, just something in the crease and to define my lash line and to do so I've been reaching for two of my older palettes from Anastasia Beverly Hills, Tamanna and World Traveller palettes which contain beautiful, rich brown shades, like Bengal, Morocco, Chocolate and Fudge, basic cream shade to dust all over my lid and excellent black to line my lashes. I don't need anything else to create a quick, simple eye look and these shadows are fantastic quality.
When my eye makeup looks almost the same every day one thing that is changing daily is a lipstick and I've been wearing lots of pinks and corals lately. You can see swatches of my favourites in my Summer coral lipsticks and Hot pink lips posts.
To match my lipsticks I've been reaching for coral and pink blushes and some of my favourites are in this adorable Too Faced Love Flush Long Lasting 16H Blush Wardrobe palette which, unfortunately, was a limited edition but you can get all the shades as they're permanent and sold separately. My favourites for this time of year are Love Hangover and How Deep Is Your Love but I really use them all, mix and match, as having them all in one palette is very convenient.
So these are all my most loved products in the last month. Have you tried any of them? What have you been loving lately?
