One of the best things about beauty blogging for me is discovering new brands, either through reading other blogs or having opportunities to try new products. A few weeks ago I was kindly sent some deluxe samples of Gatineau skincare, French brand established in 1930s by a visionary beauty therapist Madame Jeanne Gatineau, a woman with true passion for beauty, who developed a revolutionary skincare. After opening her own professional school, she went on to create ground-breaking products, including the very first exfoliant.
The brand blends the perfect mix of natural extracts and bio-technology to generate immediate results for women and offers professional range of products.
I've been using all the products I've received for the past month as a part of my evening skincare routine and I'm ready to share my thoughts on them.
Even though all of these are not full size products I got to use every one of them for at least 3 weeks so I got a good chance to check what and how works for my skin. Everything feels and smells like a luxury skincare which you would be treated with at a beauty salon. And it's not a surprise cause it is a high end brand and their products are often used by beauticians worldwide.
Let me give you a quick rundown of all the products I had the pleasure to test:
Gentle Eye Makeup Remover, 200ml, £19* - refreshing and gentle, it contains camomile and cornflower extracts to soothe the delicate eye area. It removes makeup easily although it's not the best in case of wearing heavy or waterproof products. I don't like to spend lots of money for products that don't benefit my skin in long term so I will stick to my cheap and cheerful micellar water which does its job perfectly well.
Melatogenine Refreshing Cleansing Cream, 250ml, £32* - one of the products from the Melatogenine range with patented ingredients which encourage cell renewal and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. The cleanser has reach and creamy consistency, it contains Sweet Almond Oil which nourishes the skin and leaves it super soft. I'm enjoying using this as my second cleanse in the evening and it feels luxurious while massaging it on my skin, it doesn't strip it from moisture and makes it silky soft.
Radiance Enhancing Gommage, 75ml, £32* - gentle chemical exfoliator which contains AHA from apple extract, enzymes and Vitamin C to eliminate dead skin cells and brighten the skin. One of my favourite products from the bunch, it leaves my skin very smooth and visibly radiant. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a gentle, non abrasive exfoliator.
Melatogenine Future Plus Anti-Wrinkle Radiance Mask, 75ml, £42* - main active ingredients, Melatogenine and Marine Collagen, plump out wrinkles and smooth the skin. I love using it after the gommage and leave it as an overnight treatment, in the morning my skin is smooth, radiant and supple, fantastic product for a mature skin.
Melatogenine AOX Probiotics Advanced Rejuvenating Cream, 50ml, £80* - powerful anti-aging rich moisturiser which contains youth activating molecule, Melatogenine, Marine Collagen, anti-oxidants and probiotics to nourish and rejuvenate the skin. Since the first try I've been in love with this cream which I used as my night time moisturiser, it left my skin instantly soft and smooth and the effect increased over time. Sadly, I finished the 15ml sample which lasted for almost 4 weeks of everyday use but I'm seriously considering to buy a full size of it, just waiting for a decent offer on the website cause it's a really expensive product.
Melatogenine AOX Probiotics Youth Activating Beauty Serum, 30ml, £62* - I had a small 5ml sample of this serum but I still managed to use it daily for almost 3 weeks as you need a tiny amount each time. It didn't impress me on its own but it certainly made my skin happier combined with the Rejuvenating Cream.
Melatogenine AOX Probiotics Advanced Rejuvenating Eye Concentrate, 15ml, £50* - another fantastic product from the same range containing Melatogenine and anti-oxidants and also Orchid extract to brighten the eye area and Seaweed extract to restore skin's vitality. Although I have a 5ml sample of this eye concentrate I've been using it twice a day for a month and I still haven't finished it as you need every time just a drop really. I've been using eye creams for years and it's always hard for me to notice any dramatic changes with new products but I have to say that my under eye area has started looking much brighter, hydrated and smoother and this is the only product I've been using for the past weeks so it definitely gets thumbs up from me. And even though it's an expensive eye serum I think it's well worth the money if your skin is showing signs of aging cause the full size will last at least 4 months and I think it's a very effective product.
I know that these products are not cheapest and for everyone's budget but it's always good to buy some discovery kits first like this Moisturising Collection, £35.82 available on Beauty Expert to try luxurious products for less and to see what's worth investing in more money.
