In today's post I want to share with you makeup look that had been on my mind for quite some time but I feel like it's a more Summery look so I wanted to wait till the weather warms up a bit and we're more inclined to wear warmer tones on our face and bright lipsticks. This look is suitable for many skin tones and perfect for any age as I'm using almost all matte shades on my lids which usually look very good even on mature skin. And bright lipstick makes anyone look more youthful and playful. It's a great makeup for many occasions but Summer evening is just perfect for that in my opinion.
So let's get to it!
Primer - as my primer I used Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal as I wanted a nice glowy base, this liquid highlighter has a gorgeous golden champagne tone and can be used over the foundation on the high points on the face but I like to use it as a primer to add that 'glow from within' effect to my skin.
Foundation - following my 'shop my stash' project I'm trying to finish up the L'Oreal Infallible 24H Matte foundation, it's a great, long lasting base product but it can look a bit too matte for a Summery look hence using a luminous primer underneath.
Concealer - same as usual, Pixi Under Eye Corrector and Bourjois Radiance Reveal concealer in Light.
Powder - to set my base products I used Laura Geller Balance 'n Brighten Baked Foundation in Medium, I was absolutely blown away by how good it looked on my skin. Because it's a powder foundation it adds a tiny bit of coverage and blurs imperfection but the finish is luminous and beautiful. I've had this deluxe sample for more then a year and I never used it to set my foundation with it, now I've tried doing that I can't get enough of it. It's especially great at setting matte foundation cause it adds that subtle amount of glow to the skin. On the day I created this makeup look I had some redness and breakouts on my face but after using the primer, foundation and this powder my skin looked almost perfect.
Bronzer, contour - to bronze my face I used W7 Hollywood Bronze & Glow duo, which is obviously "inspired" by Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow palette, I really like the effect it gives to my skin, just like the sun would warm my complexion, it has a bit of golden sheen to it which makes my skin glowing but not shimmery. It's finely milled and it blends really well. To contour lightly my cheeks I used mix of the two shades from BarryM Contour Kit.
Highlighter - I used the highlighter from the W7 Hollywood Bronze & Glow palette, it's not the best highlighter but it looks nice if used with light hand.
Blush - Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso.
Primer - I just used the Pixi Corrector as my primer and set it with a bit of powder.
Eyeshadows - Makeup Geek eyeshadows (check my collection).
Eye pencil - Makeup Geek Full Spectrum Eye Liner in Espresso.
Eye liner - Kat Von D Tatoo Liner in Trooper.
Mascara - L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Feline in Black.
False Lashes - Ardell Demi Wispies.
Brows - Anastasia Beverly Hills brow Wizz in Soft Brown.
1 - after priming my eye lids I applied shade Chicakdee in and above my crease with a fluffy brush (Morphe E28).
2 - using smaller blending brush (Morphe E17) I deepened the crease using shade Morocco.
3 - I applied shade Cocoa Bear all over my mobile lid using flat shader brush (Zoeva 232) and then blended the crease with the same brush I used for Morocco to create a seamless gradient between the colours.
4 - I created a small wing using black eye liner and applied brown eye pencil on my waterline and lower lash line.
5 - I smudged the eye pencil lightly with my finger and then blended the edges with a small blending brush (Morphe M506) using shade Cocoa Bear.
6 - to brighten up the eyes I applied shimmery gold shade Gold Digger in my inner corner and inner lower lid using pencil brush (Zoeva 230). I finished off my eyes by applying mascara, adding false lashes and filling in my brows.
Lipstick - Wet 'n Wild Mega Last Lip Colour in Coral-ine, I rarely use my Wet' n Wild lipsticks which is a shame because they are fantastic, so pigmented, long lasting and comfortable on the lips and so affordable.
And this is the finished look :)
Do you like pairing warm brown smokey eyes with orange-y/coral lips?
I think it's a great combination for Summer and something I can see myself wearing a lot during warmer months.
Are you a fan of all matte eye looks or do you prefer a bit of shimmer on your lids?
Let me know what do you think of this makeup look :)
Have a great weekend!
