With the Spring in full swing I'd like to share with you today a makeup look that is soft and feminine, with a bit of pink, perfect for a Spring day or night. For my eyes I used the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bon palette (review) which I can't stop using, it's so pretty, the quality is great and all those pink tones make me think of Spring. This look would complement any eye colour and most skin tones so hopefully it will inspire some of you to re-create it.
Primer - after reading a few very favourable reviews on the NIOD Photography Fluid I decided to give it a go myself, I've tried it a few times already but I'm not sure if I see any difference in how my foundation looks with it underneath. I will keep you updated.
Foundation - No7 Beautifully Matte in Deep Ivory, this is not a new product but new to me, I had wanted to try it for ages but always something more exciting, newer, came in the way. So far I'm liking this foundation, it gives me good coverage, keeps my oils at bay and it lasts all day on my face.
Concealer - Maybelline Fit me in shade 10.
Powder - to set my base products I used powders from the Makeup Revolution Beyond Radiance palette (review) for a naturally glow-y finish.
Bronzer, blush, highlighter - I was very lucky to win the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Blush Palette in a giveaway hosted by the lovely Siobhan from Beautylymin blog and I've been using it every day since I got it last week, the shades are so pretty and they blend so nicely on the skin. I used shade Lo-Fi to bronze my face, Cherry for a blush and Angel as my highlighter on top of the cheeks.
Primer - Freedom Makeup Eye Primer, so cheap and totally perfect, it makes the eyeshadows appear more vibrant and help to extend their wear time.
Eyshadows - Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bon palette.
Eye pencil - NYX Wonder Pencil in Light on waterline.
Eye liner - L'Oreal Super Liner to line the upper lashes.
Mascara - L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Feline.
Brows - I've finished my trusty Inglot Brow Pomade and before repurchasing it I've decided to give another product a try, I bought the Maybelline Master Brow Pro Palette in Soft Brown and I'm loving the shade of the brow powder which together with the wax lasts on me all day and looks more natural then any pomade I think.
1 - after priming my eye lid and dusting shade Divinity all over it I blended shade Almond Truffle in and above my crease, I repeat the process couple of times until I was happy with the intensity of the colour.
2 - using flat shading brush I applied shade Sprinkles all over my mobile lid, it's a beautiful light pink with golden shift to it.
3 - with a pencil type of brush I darkened the outer corner using shade Bordeaux, beautiful burgundy rich brown.
4 - using tapered blending brush I blended the Bordeaux shade slightly in to the crease and diffused the edges on the lid.
5 - I lined my upper lashes with black eye liner and applied a mix of Almond Truffle and Bordeaux on my lower lash line for subtle definition.
6 - I applied shade Satin Sheets in my inner corner and finished off the eyes with mascara, some subtle false lashes and filling in my brows.
Lip liner - Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Eastend Snob.
Lipstick - Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Metal Peony.
And this is the finished look :)
I really like this makeup look and it's been my 'go to' every time I want to look more polished and put together but don't want to spend lots of time doing my makeup. The eyes look like there was more thought and effort put in the makeup but it's actually very simple and quick, just the eyeshadows make a great job on their own.
What is your 'go to' Spring makeup look?
