In my second instalment of 'makeup inspired by nature' (check my first one here) I'm dreaming of Spring in full bloom and beautiful cherry trees. Spring is my favourite season and seeing all the trees and flowers coming back to life after Winter makes me always happy and sentimental. I remember this big beautiful cherry tree we used to have in front of our kitchen window when I was a child and it was the most beautiful view on Spring mornings (going back the memory lane again, are we? it's a sign of getting real old, LOL!)
Anyways, I chose this pretty picture of blossoming cherry tree on a sunny day as my inspiration to today's makeup.
I wanted to focus on those beautiful pink flowers with some accents of fresh, young green leaves but also couldn't miss the vibrant blue colour of the sky. Oh, I can't wait for those gorgeous, sunny Spring days!
To create this makeup I used two palettes, the Morphe Brushes Jaclyn Hill Favourites, which contains Morphe single eyeshadows, for the pink shades and Zoeva Retro Future for that vibrant blue and fresh green.
1 - I primed my eyes and applied the mauve/dusty pink shade (Morphe palette) in the crease.
2 - I covered my inner half lid with the light pink shade and the outer half with the darker pink shade (Morphe palette).
3 - I darkened lightly the outer corner with the chocolate shade from Morphe palette.
4 - I lined my water line and lower lash line with white eye pencil, smudged it lightly and then applied on top the blue shade from Zoeva palette.
5 - using the white eyeshadow from Zoeva palette I highlighted my brow bone and lightened the blue in my inner corner.
6 - I applied the Spring green shade (Zoeva palette) on my tear duct.
I applied mascara (L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Feline) and false lashes (Ardell Naturals) and filled in my brows with Inglot Brow Pomade #16.
Foundation: Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless in 120 Classic Ivory
Concealer: Pixi corrector + Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer in Light
Setting powder: Inglot Brightening powder #503
Bronzer, contour: Inglot HD powder #508
Blush: Max Factor Crème Puff Blush in Seductive Pink
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in #45
And this is the whole face look :)
Obviously, it's not the most wearable makeup look but that's not the point in this series, it's about having fun with makeup and getting creative. Although, if you swap the blue shade for the chocolate one from Morphe palette you'd have a nice, girly, soft pink look, perfect to wear during the day.
Let me know your thoughts on this, inspired by blossoming cherry tree, makeup look :)
