With Valentine's Day just around the corner, regardless whether you celebrate it or not, you have a great excuse to get glammed up and spend quality time with your partner or friends, snacking on delicious food and sipping good wine. That's exactly what me and my husband will be doing, in the comfort of our home, because we're wild like this, haha!
I love playing with makeup so any occasion is perfect for me to experiment with different looks. Today I want to share with you a look that's a bit romantic and feminine, perfect for a date with your loved one.
I wanted to create a look that incorporates pink shade on the eyes and lips, but it's not overly sweet and Barbie-like.
Primer: Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot primer, one of my all time favourite primers that does make an actual difference to how long my makeup lasts throughout a day.
Foundation: Bourjois Air Mat in the shade 01 Rose Ivory with a bit of 03 Light Beige mixed in.
Concealer: to hide my under eye dark circles I used Pixi Corrector and then applied Bourjois Radiance Reveal concealer in Light to further brighten that area (keep an eye for a review of the new Bourjois base products).
Powder: to set all my base products in place I used the Bourjois Healthy Balance powder in shade 52 Vanilla and then dusted lightly Dim Light from the Hourglass palette for some natural glow.
Bronzer: to add warmth to my skin I used the Luminous Bronzer from the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit palette (review).
Blush: for healthy pink flush to my cheeks I used Luminous Flush blush from the Hourglass palette.
Highlighter: to add subtle glow to the tops of my cheeks I applied Irridescent Light from the same palette which is actually one of Hourglass new Strobing Ambient Powders.
Primer: Pixi corrector used to prime my lids for eyeshadows.
Eyeshadows: Zoeva Cool Spectrum palette (review).
Eye liner: Morphe Gel Liner in black (not pictured).
Mascara: Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama, I also added false lashes (sorry I don't remember what style was it but I'm sure they are by Ardell).
Brows: Inglot Brow Pomade #16.
1 - after priming my lids I dusted shade CL140, light beige, all over my lids, up to the brows to set the primer and make the blending of next eyeshadows smoother and easier.
2 - I blended shade CL040, cool toned medium brown, in to the crease and lightly above.
3 - then I applied the pink shade CL070 all over the lid.
4 - using the black shade CL030, a tiny bit at a time, I darkened the outer corner and crease blending the shade really well into the pink one.
5 - after lining my upper lashes and creating a wing with black gel liner I applied the cool toned gold shade CL100 on my tear duct and after mixing it with a bit of Inglot Duraline (mixing solution for pigments) I lined my lashes with it, just right above the black liner, well, I tried, it didn't come out as precise as I wished it would though, I need more practice with this kind of look. I also put a bit of this golden shade mixed with Duraline on my waterline.
6 - I lined my lower lashes with the black shade, then I applied on my lower lid the shade CL120, shimmery light bronze, and blended the edges with shadeCL040, light brown.
Then I applied my mascara and added false lashes.
I've been absolutely obsessed with one of my new lipsticks, the Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in the shade Kiss Chase (review), so I knew I need to create a look to match it.
And this is the finished look :)
Hope you enjoyed this makeup look and maybe it inspired you to create something similar for your date.
Do you have any special plans for Valentine's Day or will you be just casually spending it with the people you love?
Have a great weekend!
