It seems like we were celebrating New Year's Day only last week but the truth is it's almost the end of January, isn't that crazy!? Today I want to share with you my recent favourite beauty products, ones that I've been absolutely loving and reaching for the most.
But before we start talking beauty can I just mention that me and my hubby have finally jumped on the Netflix bandwagon and the first series that we watched in full in a record time for us (three evenings!) was the documentary "Making A Murderer". What an incredible story and one that I can't stop thinking about. We both were amazed, shocked and disappointed at the same time. If you haven't watched it yet you definitely should.
So now we have a lifestyle favourite out of the way let me let me talk you through my favourite beauty products :)
January beauty favourites post wouldn't be complete without the gorgeous Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit palette (review) which I am obsessed with and use it almost every day, the quality of all the powders is amazing and Mood Exposure blush has been one of my most reached for since getting the palette.
Talking about blushes there is another very pretty one that is also super affordable, Live Love London blush in shade Desire (review), pale rosy pink that looks natural and beautiful on the cheeks, it blends effortlessly and lasts on my skin all day.
Although I have lots of eyeshadow palettes, one that was used most frequently in the last few weeks is the Zoeva En Taupe palette (review). I've been really enjoying creating subtle, cool toned eye looks and this palette is perfect for that.
My favourite everyday base products in January have to be Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot Primer (review) and Bourjois Air Mat foundation (review), this combo gives me naturally looking, almost flawless complexion which lasts all day without getting too shiny or patchy. I highly recommend both products!
I have to admit that slowly but surely I'm becoming a lipstick addict (like an eyeshadow palette addiction is not enough, lol!) and I absolutely love wearing them on everyday basis and most days you will find me sporting quite bold shades on my lips. My recent favourite lipsticks that I'm seriously obsessed with (just check my Instagram for lots of pictures of them) are:
NYX High Voltage Lipstick in Flutter Kiss - my perfect nude shade that is moisturising and super comfortable on the lips;
NYX Matte Lipstick in Bloody Mary - gorgeous red with raspberry undertones and very comfortable formula;
NARS Audacious Lipstick in Vivien - beautiful deep berry shade that goes perfectly with cooler tones on the eyes and the formula is amazing which I have praised lots of times already on this little blog.
(Stay tuned for my NYX haul post next week as I am seriously impressed with some of their products.)
My fragrance of the month has been without the doubt the YSL Black Opium which I got for Christmas. It's a gorgeous warm, cosy, sensuous scent with notes of Coffee, Pink Pepper, Vanilla, Jasmine, Patchouli and Cedar. It's the perfect evening, Winter scent for me which I've been wearing also during the day as I don't find it too strong. My only negative about it is that it's not very long lasting on my skin which is quite disappointing considering the brand and that I have the Eau de Perfume not the Toilette. But despite this it's definitely one of my all time favourite perfumes.
When it comes to skincare I have established a routine that I'm quite happy with at the moment but with my skin becoming slightly dehydrated thanks to Winter conditions I've reached again for the Marula Facial Oil (review) and immediately remembered while I loved it in the first place. It nourishes and hydrates my skin leaving it softer and plumper. I add two drops of it to my morning moisturiser and it helps keeping my skin hydrated all day.
These have been the stand out beauty products for me this month, have you tried any of them?
What have you been loving lately?
And which serial on Netflix should I start binge watching this weekend?
