Even though Summer in UK has been pretty miserable I've been really enjoying creating Summer-y looks that make me think of holidays, sea/ocean water, beach, evening cocktails... ok, I stop here before I'll drift away to the dreamland :) I am trying to use my Summer palettes quite often before I put them away for the colder months. Today I am sharing with you makeup look I created using Sleek Del Mar Vol.2 palette (review). I have been drawn to the turquoise shade Bora Bora since the moment I got the palette and finally I made a use of it. Let me take you now through all the products I used for my makeup.
Primer - Illamasqua Hydra Veil, I have received this sample with some of my recent purchases and making use of it, I have only used it once so can't really tell you anything more then it's nice and I love the texture of it and that it doesn't leave any greasy residue.
Foundation - my recent love, L'Oreal True Match in W3 Golden Beige.
Concealer/highlighter - Rimmel Wake Me Up in Light and L'Oreal Lumi Magique in Light.
Powder - L'Oreal True Match in W1.
Primer - Urban Decay Potion Primer, sample I received with my Naked palette.
Eyeshadows - Sleek Del Mar Vol.2 palette.
Eye pencils - L'Oreal Color Riche in White and Lord & Berry in Black used as eyeshadows base.
Eyeliner - Zoeva Cat Eye Pen in Black.
Mascara - Maybelline Lash Sensational in Black.
Brows - Rimmel Brow Pencil in Dark Brown and L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper in Medium/Dark.
Bronzer, highlighter - to sculpt my cheeks and bronze my face I used from the Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour palette (review) the two first shades from the bottom row, to highlight I used the shimmery white gold shade mixed with the one next to it from the same row, to create a more subtle highlight.
Blush - to complement the eyes and adds a bit of colour to my cheeks I used a bit of Sephora blush in the shade Romantic Rose.
To complement the whole look I decided to go for nude lips and chose the Pro Melts Lipgloss by Freedom Makeup in the shade D-Ream which is a beautiful brown-y nude, not too dark but just the perfect shade for me, also the formula it's more of a liquid lipstick then lipgloss and it has a good staying power.
And this is the finished look :)
Even though the eyes are pretty bold and colourful I found this look quite wearable as it's basically all matte and it looks more subtle then when using shimmery shades. What do you think of it?
Would you wear turquoise/teal colours on your eyes?
PS. hope you all have fantastic weekend!
The weather here seems to be improving and the forecast for the next couple of days is quite optimistic so I hope we'll enjoy some quality time outside as my boys NEED to run, climb and burn all this excess energy they seem to have every day. How on earth do kids do that??
On Saturday we have a BBQ party at our friends to celebrate their daughter turning one so it should be fun time with good company and delicious food :) Is it weird that the older I get the more excited I get about food?? LOL
