With Summer well and truly upon us I decided to share with you my most loved coral lipsticks. There is something about coral shade that screams Summer to me and I've been a bit obsessed with this colour lately. I love my Summer pinks and reds but I can wear them all year round really while corals look the best in the warm weather with sunkissed skin, am I right? :) So here are my top 5 coral lipsticks, varying from quite expensive to very affordable.
I love to pair my coral lips with peach-y, coral or bronze eyes, or simply with minimal eye makeup but, in any scenario, there have to be bronzed, dewy skin and a bit of coral blush to complement the lipstick. And, ideally, there would be white sandy beach, turquoise sea water in front of me and Summer cocktail in my hand :)
Tarte Lip Surgance lip crème in Vintage ($24) - not long ago I finally got my hands on some Tarte products, one of them being the lip crayon which quickly has become my favourite every day coral shade. It's a pink coral, not as intense as other in my collection thus perfect for every day errands, it's nice and creamy with glossy finish and applies effortlessly to the lips. It feels moisturising and very comfortable, it lasts around 3 hours if not eating but being a crayon it's super easy to re-apply. It has faint mint scent which feels quite refreshing when applying the lipstick.
Nars Audacious Lipstick in Natalie (£24) - it's the most gorgeous coral pink with an intense pigmentation and fantastic formula, I have a review of this lipstick so won't be repeating myself but, in short, it's a love!
Zoeva Luxe Cream Lipstick in Melting Kisses (£7.50) - how cute the name of this shade is?? This is coral with orange undertones but still very beautiful, the pigmentation and quality is fantastic and actually remind me a lot of the Nars one but it feels a bit creamier on the lips while still leaving a satin finish. I talked more about this lipstick in my Zoeva haul.
Essence Longlasting Lipstick in 01 Coral Calling (£2.30) - this is a true coral shade but the pigmentation is not very intense so the lipstick applies quite sheer which I really like for every day wear but it can be built up to higher opacity if needed. It feels very comfortable on the lips but it's not really that long lasting, I'd say around 3 hours if not eating in the meantime, and it does accentuate dry skin so prepping the lips well beforehand is essential. But for the low price I think it's a great lipstick and a beautiful shade!
Maybelline ColorDrama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil in 420 In With Coral (£4.99) - this shade is very similar to Nars Natalie but more neon-like, I adore the formula of these Maybelline Lip Pencils, creamy, very pigmented, not drying on the lips but still long lasting, I get around 5 hours of wear time before I need to re-apply it. If you still haven't tried these pencils you're definitely missing out!
As you can see these are all different shades of coral, right? And I adore all of them and wear them for different occasions.
What is your favourite lipstick colour for Summer? Do you like to wear coral shades? I'd love to hear what you think.
