Origins is a brand I've heard lots of good things about but hadn't tried any of their products until a few months ago and I have to say that once I got my hands on one of them it was love at first use. Since then I've tried a few more products and I love all of them so decided to share with you my thoughts on them.
I have talked about this mask before on my blog and it's been my skin saviour when I was going through a very dehydrated phase. So many people love it and rightly so, because it's fantastic and really works at deeply hydrating the skin. It feels luxurious on the face, smells amazing and after leaving it on for the whole night I wake up with softer, plumper and more hydrated skin. Any skin type will benefit from this mask and it has become a firm favourite in my skincare routine.
This is also well known, amongst beauty enthusiasts, mask which clears out pores from all the dirt and debris that clog them. It contains active charcoal which acts like a magnet to draw out pore-cloggers, white China Clay - absorbs environmental pollutants and Lecithin which dissolves impurities. Even though there are many clay based masks on the market I feel like this one does the job really well without drying out my skin too much like some others tend to do. It's also really easy to remove with damped face cloth without pulling the skin. It leaves my skin much clearer and my pores less visible.
This mask is the one I reach for when my skin is paying me back, for the excessive amount of sugar I ate, in the form of some angry spots. The mask contains Zinc Oxide, Sulfur, calming Camphor and dries out any breakouts, removes dead cells leaving my skin smoother, less oily, calmer and looking better just right after one use. The smell of it and the texture reminds me a lot of Sudocream which also contains Zinc Oxide and it's great for treating your blemishes. I definitely recommend giving this mask a go if your skin is oily/combination, with breakouts, as you will see instant results.
Even though I do prefer nowadays chemical exfoliators which are more gentle on the skin and also more effective at removing dead cells and all the grime from the pores there is something incredibly satisfying at scrubbing (gently!) the face with some beads. Modern Friction contains skin-refining Rice Starch which very gently polishes the skin leaving it smooth and soft. I use it every couple of weeks followed by hydrating mask and my skin is loving it. I have only a travel sample size of this exfoliator but will definitely purchase a full size when I run out of it.
Last but certainly not least is one of the newest products from Origins, the serum that many beauty bloggers raved about and the one that promises de-stress the skin, refines texture, restores glow, shrinks pores and blurs imperfections. And I have to say that it's a one bloody good serum that I just finished after using it for two months and very likely will re-purchase it. It's aimed at people in their twenties but it definitely didn't cause any damage to my more mature skin :) It wasn't a miracle worker that transformed my skin into the picture perfect but it definitely helped it to look better. My skin looks more radiant, it's been less oily and also, what made me buy the serum in the first place, my pores do look smaller. Of course they didn't disappear as it's not possible but they appear to be not as large as before. The formula of the serum is very light, it sinks into the skin immediately leaving it looking slightly luminous but not greasy or sticky. I highly recommend this serum to anyone looking to improve their skin's texture.
