Makeup look #18 Lilac steel

Last Monday I shared with you the makeup I received from Nars and today I want to show you these products in action. When I first saw the eyeshadow duo, even though both shades are beautiful, I didn't think I would wear them together but then I just started playing with them and created a look which I really liked. It's a bit smokey but not as much that you need to wear it in the evening, I'd say it's quite wearable and would suit most eye colours. You could keep it even more day appropriate using nude lipstick but I complemented the look with mauve shade on my lips which made it that bit more special.

For my eyes I used the Nars eyeshadow duo in Jardin Perdu and couple of shades from the Sleek Del Mar Vol.2 palette. To line my lashes I used the Nars eyeliner in Night Flight.

(Please, excuse the typo I made in the tutorial, I meant 'steel' as a shade of the eyeshadow not 'steal'!)

Face
Foundation: I used my new Nars All Day Luminous foundation in Deauville but, as I mentioned in my haul post, it accentuats all dry skin, especially on and around my nose so I removed it and applied my favourite L'Oreal Infallible 24H Matte foundation instead.
Concealer: Maybelline Superstay Better Skin concealer in Light, one of my favourite drugstore concealers, it covers dark circles well and once set with powder, it lasts all day. To highlight the centre of my face I used another favourite, L'Oreal Lumi Magique in Light.
Powder: L'Oreal Nude Magique BB Powder in Light, I seriously hit pan in this powder :) I use it every day, it's so nice, very finely milled, it doesn't look cakey and help my makeup to stay in place.
Bronzer: BarryM Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit, to set my under eye concealer and bronze/contour my face.
Blush: Inglot #82, this blush is so pretty and goes with nearly every eye look, I use it most days.
Highlighter: the one and only Mary-Lou Manizer by The Balm :)

Lips
I used one of my favourite lipsticks, the beautiful Anna from the Audacious Lipsticks range by Nars.

And this is the finished look :)

Let me know what do you think of this makeup look.
Do you like how the two eyeshadows from the Nars duo look together? Or would you wear them differently?

  11. Love the eye look you created. You've got such great shaped lids. I often have to bring the shadow quite high otherwise you wouldn't be able to see the colour looking straight on because of the way my lid is creased. Love these colours on you! :-)

  12. I wouldn't go for those Nars shades myself as I'm a bit of wimp when it comes to eyeshadow, but the look you created is absolutely beautiful. The two shades work perfectly together. x

  23. Thank you Kimmy! I wish I had the perfectly shaped big eyes :) but I don't have much space between my crease and brows so if I bring an eyeshadow to high then I end up having a dark under brow 'highlight', lol! x
