After trying my first Zoeva palette 'Love is a Story' couple of months ago I knew that slowly but surely I will add their other palettes to my collection as the quality and pigmentation of the eyeshadows is on par with high end ones but they're much more affordable. They have 7 different palettes at the moment from neutrals through smokey to fun shades. As much as I love neutral eyeshadows I am always drawn to those colourful ones that are more fun to play with and are more unique.
Retro Future palette is full of playful colours perfect for Spring/Summer.
As usual with Zoeva palettes the packaging is very sleek cardboard with magnetic closure, feels secure and is perfect for traveling as it takes nearly no space at all. There isn't a mirror but I'm not bothered about it as I rarely use the ones provided in a palette. For £15.99 (on BeautyBay) you get 10 large eyeshadows of great quality which I think it's a bargain.
Retro Future palette contains matte, satin, metallic and shimmery shades, all with names referring to the overall theme of the palette: future/galaxy. They're all very pigmented and silky soft, they also perform great on the eyes and stay without creasing or fading all day. As it's a fun/colourful palette there aren't your safe neutral eyeshadows and the palette is lacking a mid-brown crease/transition shade to make it perfect for any eye look. I bought this palette for the colourful shades so if I need a brown eyeshadows to complement the eye look I have plenty to choose from in my collection. But if you're new to the palettes craziness and don't have many in your stash then the lack of neutral shades in Retro Future palette needs to be considered.
All the swatches are done, as usual in my reviews, without a primer and these are two thin layers of each shade.
Galaxy - matte intense white, incredibly pigmented for this kind of colour, perfect for highlighting the brow bone or inner corner of the eye.
Super Vibe - golden pale green with satin finish, how beautiful is this shade for Spring!
New Age - orange toned gold with metallic finish.
Space Out - light taupe shade with satin finish, perfect all over the lid for a natural eye look.
Rose Gold - this shade is to die for, true rose gold with duo-chrome effect, I've used it already so many times and even though I have many similar shades nothing is like this one!
Silver Disc - silver grey with metallic finish.
Electric Youth - matte royal blue, it kicks up a bit of powder in the pan but it blends beautifully on the eye lids so as long as you tap the excess from the brush is not a big deal.
Cosmic Chic - gorgeous purple/blue duo-chrome shade with satin finish.
Timetravel - very pale lilac, buttery soft and gorgeous on the eyes when applied over a white base.
Black Hole - matte black with silver and blue micro-glitter.
So what do you think of the Retro Future palette? I'm loving it! You can create so many fantastic eye looks, from more toned down to crazy purple, it's a perfect addition to makeup collection for everyone who likes to experiment with colours.
Be sure to come back on Friday to see my makeup look using this palette :)
