Project #ClenasingMilkTrial with Escentual - update

A month ago I talk to you about the #CleansingMilkTrial blind test run by Escentual and today I decided to quickly update you on my thoughts and experience with all the cleansing milk samples.
Escentual has recently published the report based on the survey completed by all people taking part in the project and revealed which product was in each sample and which ones came out as favourites.

#CleansingMilkTrial project

I used all the samples in the same way: massaging a product in to my skin with my finger tips and removing it with a damped face cloth. I used them in my evening routine to: 1 - remove my makeup and 2 - cleanse my skin.

Sample A - it had nice, fresh scent and light consistency, it removed my makeup effectively but it didn't do the best job at heavy eye makeup. It made my skin tingle a little which is not the best experience, especially for those with sensitive skin.
Overall score: 4.0/5 stars

Sample B - mint colour, fresh, lightly herbal scent which I loved, felt very refreshing on the skin and left it soft and comfortable, removed most of my makeup ( a bit of trouble with mascara) efficiently. This sample was one of my favourite.
Revealed: Clarins Cleansing Milk Normal Skin, £17.15 200ml
Overall score: 3.4/5 stars

Sample C - the scent of this one was really unpleasant for me , somewhat chemical, it was quite nice at cleansing my skin but the scent really put me off trying it for more than 2 times.
Revealed: Caudalie gentle Cleansing Milk, £14.25 200ml
Overall score: 3.3/5 stars

Sample D - nice fresh scent but very runny consistency made it difficult to use it. It was nice on the skin, soothing and left my skin comfortable. I suspected it being the Vichy cleansing milk I tried some time before.
Overall score: 3.6/5 stars

Sample E - no scent, gentle on the skin, making it feel soft and hydrated, great sample but I like my skincare to have a bit of scent so it wasn't my favourite.
Overall score: 3.9/5 stars

Sample F - very thick, cram-like consistency which felt nice and luxurious on the skin but I wasn't fond of the a bit powdery scent. Good at removing makeup and leaving skin soft and supple.
Overall score: 4.0/5 stars

Sample G - lovely, fresh scent, gentle on the skin but effectively removes all the makeup, left my skin soft and comfortable. Another favourite of mine and I used the whole pot and might actually purchase the full size in the future.
Overall score: 4.5/5 stars

It was so much fun to be part of this project and I was super excited to find out which samples came out as favourites and I definitely share the love for sample G with the rest of bloggers who also loved it so much.
Have you used any of these cleansing milks?
If you took part in the project which sample was your favourite?

  1. This sounds like it was a really fun trial and would have been right up my street cause I love my skincare. I've got a list of cleansers to try as long as my arm right now but I think I'll add the LEO cleansing milk to it as it might be nice for summer :)

  2. Sounds like you had a great time blind testing there, Dagmara! It's really good to see La-Roche Posay cleansing milk has the highest score. Will have to pick it up to try for myself.

  11. I love the idea of testing these products blind as I do think we can be influenced by a brand name sometimes. Interesting to see your opinions. Not tried any of these but I am generally a fan of Clarins stuff. The La Roche Posay sounds good too! x

  16. I think we all are, especially with higher end brands so it was really nice just to rely on my experience with those products :) x
