Collective beauty haul and first impressions

April was a month of my birthday so it was only natural that I treated myself to some beauty products. Some of them were on my wish list for a long time, some were just a moment of splurge :) And today I'm sharing with you my first impressions on the skincare and makeup I bought recently.

Beauty haul

I needed a night time cream that would nourish and deeply hydrate my skin and I was searching online for different options but then one day I was in Boots and decided to pick up the new offering from Garnier, the Miracle Sleeping Cream. I've been using it for couple of weeks and I really like it, I will definitely review it for you after a few more weeks when I'm sure how it works for me.

My skincare routine was lacking a nice serum as I finished all what I was using so I decided to give the Origins Original Skin Renewal Serum with Willowherb a go after reading a few reviews praising it. I like it so far but just the time will tell if it does what it says on the tin packaging.

BeautyBay has been having an offer on DrBrandt skincare so I decided to take the advantage of it and buy a product which I wanted to try for ages which is the Pores No More Pore Refiner Primer. Enlarged pores are one of my skin concerns that I've been always struggling with and I have tried way too many primers which promised to minimise the look pores but I haven't been satisfied with any of them so I'm very excited to see how this DrBrandt Primer will perform.

Along with the primer I ordered DrBrandt CC Mat Cream with SPF30 as we're heading towards Summer, there will be more sunny days and I want to try some lighter bases with high SPF to protect my skin but still give me some coverage. Will report to you how I like the products once I have tried them for a bit.

the balm mary-Lou Manizer

As for the makeup, I wouldn't be completely happy if I didn't get another eyeshadow palette :)
I know, I have already far too many, but the same goes with lipsticks, primers, blushes etc. and as the lovely Amanda from Lipstick is a Life recently mentioned to me there are so many other possible addictions to have in a life so collecting and playing with makeup doesn't seem too bad :)
Anway, after trying Zoeva eyeshadows I knew I will add another palettes to my collection and the one I just got is the Retro Future which I will tell you more about very soon.

If you are a regular reader on my blog you already know that I also added to my collection another Nars Audacious Lipstick, this time it's Natalie and I love it!

This month I was very much into lipsticks and I picked up as well L'Oreal Color Riche in the shade 256 Blush Fever which is a gorgeous every day rosy colour with a bit of shine and Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 11 So Hap'pink which I'm in love with and you will definitely see it futured on my blog :)

I already have a few lip pencils from the Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet range and I love their formula so decided to add a more Summer-y colour to my collection and chose In with Coral which is very similar to the Nars lipstick I have but a bit more intense so will be perfect for a Summer when my skin gets tanned.

And last but not least I bought the Mary-Lou Manizer from The Balm as I wanted it for ages but wasn't really sure if I will love it but recently I got in to highlights a bit more so decided to get it. And I'm so glad I did because it's such a gorgeous champagne highlighter that can be used in a very subtle way or intense and always looks just beautiful.

Essie nail polish bridal collection

I love painting my nails and I love Essie nail polishes so when I saw this cute trio of mini Essie from the latest Bridal Collection I just had to have it. In the collection there are more shades but the ones in this trio are:
Hubby for Dessert - very light lilac shade
Vanity Fairest - sheer light pink with subtle silver shimmer
Brides No Grooms - bright deep pink.
While I love all three shades I'm absolutely obsessed with the hot pink, it looks stunning on my nails. And the formula, as usual, is fantastic, wide brush and good longevity, they last on my nails 3-4 days with no chipping.

Ecotools Complexion Collection

I also bought couple of Ecotools brushes from the new Complexion Collection, mostly because they look absolutely adorable but also because I have some eye brushes from the brand and I love them.
Unfortunately these two brushes disappointed me. They're stiff, scratchy and I haven't figured out how to make use of them. I think I will talk about them soon in detail so stay tuned for that if you wanted to purchase them.

So that's it for this collective beauty haul, have you tried anything from these products? What did you buy recently? Share with me what have you splurged on? :)

  2. Such a good haul, I really want to pick up the highlighter but have never gotten around to it. Love the colours of the Essie polishes too. Could be your haul without a new eyeshadow palette and can't wait to see what looks you come up with from that :)

  3. That is a lovely haul, Dagmara! And I love every single thing that you bought, especially all three Essie nail polishes. I do look forward to the CC cream review, it sounds pretty good and the high spf is a bonus. I haven't purchase any makeup for the past one month because I put myself on a makeup ban after realizing I have way too much stuff. LOL!

  33. This is a serious collective haul! haha! Birthday is always a good excuse to treat yourself, right!?? :) Too bad the Ecotools brushes are disappointing. I was pretty excited when I saw you picked up the smaller one as it's the kind of shape I love. I really like the Essie shades you chose (all of them)!!! xx
