Saying 'Bye' to dark circles' with Pixi Correction Concentrate Concealer

Pixi Correction Concentrate

Hello!
Pixi by Petra is a brand that I've only tried a handful of products from but I have been quite intrigued by it for some time now and in love with their pastel green, girly packaging :)
There are lots of things I want to try from Pixi, hello lovely eyeshadows!, but my main focus, when placing my last order, was on products that I actually needed.
Dark under eye circles are a nightmare for many of us an while I don't suffer too badly with them I still need to cover the dark area to look like I had a 10-hour beauty sleep every night. And we all know that never happens, at least not in my case. I had been using to cover my dark circles some decent drugstore concealers (Rimmel Wake Me Up and Maybelline Better Skin) but lately I wasn't completely satisfied with them. Maybe because I've been going to sleep very late (I blame blogging for that) or because my younger boy doesn't sleep that well at night or probably both, so I needed some extra help in the makeup department.
The Pixi Correction Concentrate Concealer, RRP £12, had been on my radar for quite some time so I decided to give it a go.

Pixi Correction Concentrate

The cute small glass jar contains 3g of product which has a thick but creamy consistency and comes in one shade - Brightening Peach. Those peach-y/salmon-y tones are perfect for counteracting the blue/purple dark areas and making them magically (not really) disappear. Even though there is only one universal shade available I think it would suit most fair to medium skin tones considering you use it only for the under eye area.
In my opinion this thick formula is best to apply with my finger as the warmth of my body helps the product melt in to the skin. But I've tried it as well with a  flat concealer brush and it looked also good.

"Correction Concentrate Concealer treats delicate skin with a nourishing blend of Vitamins A, C & E whilst Rose Hip Extract regenerates skin cells, boosts elasticity and protects against premature ageing caused by free radicals", I like that, the under eye area is very delicate and needs to be moisturised and nourished to look good, especially when we're getting older.

Pixi Correction Concentrate

I've been using the Pixi Correction Concentrate Concealer for more than a week now and it has become my favourite. It instantly erases the darkness under my eyes and brightens the area. I've found it blends easily, it's really buildable and on days when I need more coverage it still does the job perfectly. I've tried before those thick creamy concealers but they looked cakey on my under eyes, used to settle in to my fine lines and crease quickly but with the Pixi one I've had no such problems. I do set the concealer with a tiny bit of powder, just like I would do with any other. The only negative I could say is, that it doesn't last all day on me, by the end of the day, and I mean roughly 8-9 hours of wearing makeup, the darkness is peaking through but the area still looks decent because there is no creasing, the concealer just kind of starts to disappear.

On both pictures I'm wearing also a thin layer of foundation so the darkness under my eyes is not very intense but I hope you still can see how the concealer masks it and brightens that area.

Have you tried Pixi cosmetics? What is your favourite under eye concealer? Let me know in the comments below :)

  2. I've never tried anything from Pixi before but this looks interesting. I have something similar in shade from Bobbi Brown, it's a peachy corrector which I use if I have really dark circles. My most recent favourite is MAC Prolongwear concealer but I'll be honest sometimes I just use my regular foundation x

  3. I have never tried anything from Pixi before but I must admit this looks like something I might like. I suffer really badly with the dark circles and have just ordered the Clarins one to see if that helps but this could be a cheaper one :)

  8. I've never bought anything from Pixi but I really like the look of this under eye concealer, at the moment I'm using Collections lasting perfection but I don't feel it really does much for me, but this looks like a great tone and consistency so I'm going to try this one out :) x

  9. I like the look of this but I know it will be too dark for my super fair skin at the moment. Have you ever tried the bobbi brown correctors? I like them but they are a bit tacky on me x

  14. I really like the effect of these peachy correctors but unfortunately they tend to crease on me so I'm always scared of wearing them. But sounds like this one is much lighter than usual, which means it might work for me too. Will have a look at it next time I'm around Carnaby Street, as they have a shop there. :) x

  20. I received a Pixi lip balm in one of the beauty boxes a while ago, but the mint green freaked me out (for some odd reason) and I gave it away.

I have tried the shade peach for my undereye, but the colour doesn't work for me. However, yellow does!
