This week I wanted to share with you a makeup look that is kind of romantic but not baby doll-like, with soft taupe eyes and bright lips. Perfect for a romantic date or any occasion you want to look feminine and a bit more daring :)
For my eyes I used one of the Makeup Revolution palettes called 'I am Sexy...' (review) with the Maybelline Color Tattoo cream eye shadow in Permanent Taupe as a base for the taupe shade from the palette.
And that's how I used them for the eye makeup.
1 - I applied the Color Tattoo to my inner and outer third of my eye lid blending lightly the edges with my finger.
2 - with a flat shading brush I applied the taupe shade (3) from the palette on top of the base connecting lightly both parts in the crease.
3 - I applied the champagne (1) shade in the centre of my lid blending lightly the edges between the colours.
4 - I blended the taupe shade in the crease and I used this light peachy shade (2) to make a nice gradient effect above the crease.
5 - I lined my lashes with black eye liner, my waterline with nude pencil, then I applied the same eye shadows to my lower lid with the taupe in the inner and outer part and the champagne in the centre.
6, 7 - I applied mascara to my lashes, filled in my brows and then added false lashes because for me romantic look requires long fluttery lashes and mine natural are not even close to that image :)
For my base I used:
Primer - The Body Shop Tea Tree primer.
Foundation - Revlon ColorStay foundation in Sand Beige.
Concealers - Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin in 02Light to hide the under eye dark circles and L'Oreal Lumi Magique in Light for highlighting.
Powder - to set my concealer and foundation I used the trustworthy L'Oreal BB powder in Light
To add a nice flush of colour and highlight to my cheeks I used the Makeup Revolution I ♡ Makeup Blushing Hearts Blusher in Candy Queen of Hearts, it's such a gorgeous product and the colour is beautiful, very subtle peachy pink with an amazing sheen to it.
Even though I photographed the Milani lipstick in Plumrose I didn't actually use it, after closer inspection of my pictures I realised that the lipstick I used was Rimmel by Kate #30, which is one of my favourite Winter shades, beautiful deep berry shade.
And that's the finished look :) I like that the eyes, even though I used quite dark eye shadow, look bright and fresh, with the lower lash line left quite light.
What do you think of this makeup look? What is your idea of a romantic makeup look?
